Thanks for the follow up @phillcoxon.
You sound as surprised as I do that the images spin when loaded before stopping.
There is something weird happening as you suggest. I will try and work out where the conflict lies.
Michael.
Cheers. you too.
Special shoutout to Frank @optimizingmatters.
Wouldn’t expect another major dev of a separate plugin to be here and pipe in.
Thanks too Frank.
MIK
Works on Chrome, IE and Opera just fine now.
Wow … thanks for the quick response.
Looking at the options you mentioned I decided to try allowing autoptimize to optimise Foogallery too.
removed foogallery from “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize:”
Foogallery is now working on all my pages and instead of pagespeed being 85 it is now up to 96.
I assume (not being a dev) that excluding foogallery from the Java optimisation meant it loaded early and then Javascript loaded later. And removing the exclusion means the gallery loads after javascript.
Do you forsee any problems. If so I can move to your recommended method.
Thanks again for the excellent response that put me on the right track.
Just reading about Foogallery alternatives.
One suggests there could be a problem with Hostgator.
Also I am using a CDN.
Thanks

In reply to: [Gutenberg] I was really ready to give this a good shotThinking about this again … wordpress has always been about the writing.
Get it down … just write write write. Format and images and everything else later.
Now it is not a writer’s tool.
It is a layout tool.
maybe that is the split we are seeing. Some people are writers, some people are into layout.
I can see how someone who is into layout might really like Gutenberg. But it just so doesn’t fit my workflow.
Cancel that request.
I’m not going to use Elementor.
Why … had a missing link on my page, thought I could fix a simple thing through the wordpress interface and the page formatting – a lot of hours work is gone.
Was excited about the templating but I will find another solution.
Thankyou
Michael
