Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [User Registration Aide] [Plugin: User Registration Aide] Header problemYes, you go to the edit new fields options page and halfway down there is a table with the fields and a dropdown with the current field order. To change it, just, given your first name field is the first field, make the middle name the second field by changing the dropdown selection box to 2, and then change the last name, if it currently is #2 to #3. If there are other fields you also need to update those accordingly, otherwise it will throw an error that you cannot have duplicate field orders. Hope this helps!
We have started development of that today
No, it is not set up for multisite yet but that is in the next update which should be in two weeks or so if everything goes as expected without any major glitches coming up.
It is not designed for multisite as of yet
Thanks
That would be your theme
thanks
Again, thanks for the input. I am fairly new to doing plugins as formerly I was doing more SharePoint and VB, and haven’t done much coding for awhile, and PHP is still fairly new to me, so I may be a little rusty but it is coming back to me each and every time I code. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions, and there will be more upgrades in the future, and I will for sure work on documentation better as well. Keep checking back as I will continue to improve on this, and have some other ideas as well. Thanks for the support!
Hi Ajamm,
If you would send me a screenshot that would be fantastic! That way I can get a better idea of what is going on, and I really haven’t done anything to the actual registration form in regards to CSS or style, but maybe if I see what it looks like I can get a better idea of how to fix it. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any problems or concerns and thank you for your input and support!
Just return a screenshot to the following email address and I will take a look at it for you.
I tried uploading an image to my theme/images folder too and tested it on my test machine and it did not work either for me. I uploaded mine into the media library and then clicked edit and copied the link and used that for the url and have had no issues with it. It may have to do with security or some other similar issue. If you can just upload it to your media library and then it should work fine. As for the first and last names, those are actually derived from the user profile fields originally contained in WordPress, and those are nothing new, however the plugin gives you the option to add them to the registration form. Those fields cannot be changed, or should not be changed as it may screw up the WordPress core, and we don’t want to do that. As for changing the names, I do have a suggestion though, as you have the option to add new fields, you can create two new fields with awf_first and awf_last as the key names and for the values, or the text the user sees maybe Frst Name and Lst Name or something similar but not the original First Name or Last Name that is included in WordPress, as that may create a conflict at some point and create more issues than it is worth so I would avoid doing that if at all possible. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any problems or questions and thanks for the input and support!
I may have found out why you are having trouble deleting the plugin, somehow there has been a thumbs.db file added and that is preventing it from being deleted. You have to move that file to another location before deleting it, like to the root folder and then you can delete both the thumbs.db file and the plugin. I do not know how that was added or what happened, I never did anything with that so either the gurus here did it or someone else added it. Sorry for any inconveniences
Okay, it sounds like it didn’t install right, what version are you using and do you have access to the ftp? I can’t see the error page because it is password protected, however I there should be 3 sections in the main user registration aide form and 2 on the edit new fields form, however if you select edit new fields you wont see anything if you haven’t added any new fields yet. If you have access to ftp then you can delete it that way. I can work with you if you want to get it working, but I would need to be able to log in to actually see what is happening to help you better with this problem. Another suggestion is try turning off other plugins if possible and see if it works then.
The widget is really meant to run in the sidebar as it is more of a ticker type version with a horizontal feed. The error would not keep it from running however. You should see here https://creative-software-design-solutions.com/creative-software-design-solutions-marquee-news-ticker-wordpress-plugin/ how it is implemented. Another issue could be the multisite, as it has not been tested on that yet, but I wouldn’t think that should be a problem.
Hmm, that is interesting, anyways, just send me your email and I will send you a copy with those lines commented out
