Sure the browser uploader is a fallback solution, and less users will be affected.
Not sure though how *that* can be a reason to not make it as logical/intuitive as possible.
In 3.4 switching between the ‘multi file drag-n-drop uploader’ and the ‘browswer uploader’ would just switch people back and forth in the same thickbox, and when the thickbox was closed, the user would elegantly be dropped back in the post/page that the user had onscreen.
Simply put, the UX difference is:
– 3.4: edit -> browser uploader -> back to post edit ??
– 3.5RC1: edit -> browser uploader -> huh ?? where am I? where did my post go? ??
No brainer to me that this will confuse lots of people, even if this is a fallback solution.
