Yes, but the option does not exist in my install. I have re-downloaded and installed 2.1 from a different computer and it is STILL not there.

I have checked admin status, created a new admin user and double checked my other 2.1 installs to be sure that I’m not crazy. The option DOES show up for my other sites but NOT for this one and I have zero idea why. I have a screenshot here showing what I’m talking about.

I’m so frustrated! I’m seriously considering switching to 2.08 and just using the friggin plugin.

that did not work…neither did the upgrade ??

Ya I know…weird. That word appears twice previously in the post (not a lot of synonyms for “bobblehead”) so don’t think it’s actually the WORD exactly…just a funky coincidence.

I’m upgrading to 2.05 to see if that has some effect on the situation.

I’ve been running my 2.0.4 site for over a month now and not had any problems posting. Today I try to post (second post of the day, it was fine an hour ago) and I get “The requested URL /wp-admin/post.php was not found on this server.” whenever I hit “Save and Continue Editing”…BUT…it’s not consistent. It doesn’t do it everytime, and there’s really no pattern. It’s not liking the word “bobblehead” on my second list item. If I take it out it works, if I put it back it breaks (I’m so not kidding). Otherwise it’s accepting changes a word at a time (most of the time) but if I type a sentence and save it breaks.

The error makes me think it’s not passing all information between pages each time it saves…like querystring data is being forgotten. The file is obviously there or it wouldn’t work at all. I’m really at a loss. Ideas?

I installed Ultimate Tag Warrior, tagged posts by each contributor and manually created links using those tags on the sidebar. It’s ugly but it’ll do for our purposes.

I think what I’m going to do is simply import the user data into the subscribe2 table and send out a mailing that tells them all about the new site features. Then we’ll let people sign up by choice, not by default. We’ll also have multiple ways to contact users and we can offer cool tool incentives to become a site member, like the privatenotes plugin and whatever else you as a community come up with that will appeal to the target audience. Thanks for all the responses!

Well, this is what I’ve been thinking. I have enough of the user information (first/last, email) to make up the rest. I can create a username from the email address and via Excel I can establish a random-ish 32 char numeric password for each user. I can populate the remaining data and do a .csv import using phpMyAdmin. The users would have to retrieve their password but we could send an email out to all of them with instructions on how to do that.

The problem is that I am not sure if WP will successfully decrypt a pseudo encrypted password field, and I can’t possibly manually enter all of these users ??

I’ve got it in Excel right now, can do anything with it. I was just looking at the db table for subscribe2 and noticed that it’s just ID/Email/Active so I’m certain I can manage that import. I was hoping to import the list as actual site members as well, did you have a suggestion?

Nothing? I’m dying here as it doesn’t look like a straight import of a csv file into the database will work…will it?

I can’t wait to use this on my site…I totally geeked out when I saw this!

First install yesterday, took < 4 minutes including db setup (with phpmyadmin on hsphere). So far I’m completely in love and already paying someone to do the template work I don’t have time for. I’m very excited and looking forward to launching in just a few DAYS…not weeks, not a month or more, DAYS. I could cry.

The RFQ (request for quote, in case you’re not aware) is open for another 16 hours. After that I will choose from those who’ve responded and go from there. This tiny project may lead to others as we don’t have a resident CSS expert at this level and are moving toward wanting to have all of our future work converted to CSS (possibly some older sites as well).

Email sent, thanks for the heads up. I contacted her and one other so far. I’m hoping to get a few quotes and have work started no later than Monday.

Sorry, madly searching for someone to do commercial work and paused to have a random post moment.
