  • To be honest, I don’t have any problem with the current WordPress Update 5.0 that replaced the editor. However, it’s just more time consuming to type. For example, when I had to add a flash game, I just used the embed option for the tool that I added via WP-Edit Plugin, and it was just like pasting the URL. However, now I got to write the code, like <object…..height…. Width…..>. In the same way, changing heading was one click away, and now you got to do little more.. The latest update is kind of very.. very annoying.

If I have to write HTML code, why won’t I used another platform? Why WordPress?

Don’t know who is crazy, WordPress, Me, or Yoast, but something strange happened. I tried deactivating plugins that I recently updated and rechecked if it fixed the issue. However, on the contrary it even broke the admin panel. Then I deactivated all the plugins to find the issue and the activated Yoast SEO. It still didn’t fix it. Finally, I cleared the All the cache and cookies of the browser, and it fixed the issue.

Then I tried activating all the plugins one by one to see which of then caused Yoast not to work, and I ended up activating all the plugins that I had activated earlier, and Yoast is now working fine.

So what actually I did to make Yoast to work: Damn! I dunno. Did clearing chache work? Sound so, but no idea what the heck just happened.

I am glad that it came back to normal whatever the bug was.

I am having the same issue. No option to edit title or add meta description.

I deactivated all the plugin and then switched to the default theme, updated the Yoast SEO and YASR to latest version, and tested, but the issue is not resolved. I tried to use the older version of YASR, and this didn’t fix as well.

I tested Yoast SEO 5.6.1, 5.6, 5.5, and all worked fine with YASR, but as soon as I switch to 5.7 and the newer version, it doesn’t let me add new post. There must be something new in these version that cause trouble.

Yes, I am running WordPress 4.9, Yoast SEO 5.8, and YASR 1.4.9, and the new post gives me a blank page, and I have just tested it on 2 of my sites. So I used WP Roll Back plugin to Roll Back Yoast SEO to version 5.6.1 and that version still works fine. I wonder what you have added in new version after 5.6.1 that none of them work it includes 5.7, 5.7.1, and 8… So no this doesn’t resolve the issue. If there was issue with YASR Rating, any of the Yoast SEO version should not work.

Why don’t you fix the error? Still not woking.

The method told by @pako69 is not working as well. Why don’t you fix it?

YASR and Yoast SEO both are not working together. So deactivating either Yoast or YASR resolves the issue for me. However, Yoast is getting updated frequently and YASR isn’t. So I think it needs an update with the fix. Please test on your blog activating Yoast SEO and YASR together

Will you ever fix this bug

I found the bug myself. Your Plugin is conflicting with Yet Another Stars Rating Plugin. This confliction started since you updated the plugin to 5.7 and it is still not resolved. The version 5.6.1 and older *tested* works fine…

When I deactivated the Yet Another Stars Rating and updated Yoast SEO to the latest one, it allows me to add new post.

Can you fix this bug please?
