Lyle, here is where it went to kabosh on me

The original host’s server (with my files) crashed and burned (motherboard)

We were down for days (weeks actually) and I finally had enough. We first selected a host (GoDaddy) then renamed the NS’s manually to point to the new servers at GD.

From there, we created WP on the server and waited for the old host to finally come back online. Once they did, I gathered up my files and uploaded them to my acct.

From there it went from catastrophe to just bad. ??

If I am to go back and do the auto, we are looking at hours – days possibly (depending on DNS propogation to rename them back to the original – as mine took the better part of a day to achieve)

In reality I would just like to simply login and go back to work, but this is daunting to say the least.

So to clarify – I am going to completely wipe the WP installation and reinstall on the GD site. Once completed, login with Dreamweaver and download all of those file to a new folder on my computer.

Then I will upload the wp-content – wp-config and the database.sql?

(For the record, we did not upload the WP-CONFIG.PHP file last night as it was never asked for…)

IOW, the 2013 theme did not come up. I just have a white page now for the .com and the wp-login.php page gets me the login prompt but right back to the same results page – no permissions

No, it just took my site offline and I still get the “…dont have permissions…” message

I renamed both at the same time – I presume this is what you wanted me to do rather than PI first, try then reactivate PI and try the Divi theme.

Yeah I looked at that one already. It is for sites that are not live at all. I need something that can be both at the same time. Literally, I want to do a fresh install without doing all of the text over again. Pictures, events, all of that.

Also, am I able to download and have a theme where I can work on it – converting over text from one page to another and once done publish it?
