In reply to: Stop customers from copying and moving a siteCan an author create pages – make changes to image galleries – delete menus etc.?
I want to give them most of the functionality but cripple them from walking in 2 years.
As far as legal goes – there is no legal issue. They understand when I do this site for them – it is MY site that I am allowing them to use for their purposes. If they no longer want the site, they can cancel their subscription – I turn off the site – everyone walks away for free.
But if they simply copy the contents with something like Duplicator, I am left screwed over.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Something is off with the Snippet and HomepageFinally hired a freelancer to fix the issue. Turns out that the excerpt and the snippet are not working together. Enabled the excerpt function and corrected it from there and the issue is now gone.
Thanks for the quick response…

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Something is off with the Snippet and HomepageAnd here is the internal of the page to change the snippet BEFORE I make it english. Regardless, it still displays in Latin on the homepage.

In reply to: I have to be missing something with 404 to 301 redirectsSorry, I should have been a little less literal.
Here is a simple example.
The OLD link
https://www.huntersfriendresort.com/indian-rally-at-indian-point/
The NEW link
https://www.huntersfriendresort.com/indian-rally-on-indian-point/I had capitalized the long tail to emphasize the good and the bad. Try these now and you will see the 2nd works fine but the first is dead in the water still

I will do that – but I have no idea of how to do it.
Still, the original issue still remains and was the cause for the 2 star rating from the outset. The last part was additional frustration – but as noted, nothing to do with NGG.
If you can let me know how to revise a review, I will be more than happy to look into it.
Think we isolated the culprit to WP Fastest Cache plugin. Sorry for the rant…
and now the pictures are gone again…
(Well, here is what I just wrote but now this can be disregarded as the images are magically back and www.remarpro.com will not let me delete this post.)
Oh this just gets better and betterer…
Today a customer called and asked if I had any pictures of a condo they could see online.
“Why of course we do!” I replied. (What kind of nincompoop would I have to be to create a webpage for a rental unit without pictures. Good grief, I spent the better part of 3 weeks photoshopping them, optimizing them, describing them… seriously, who wouldn’t have pictures?)
I directed her through the steps of how and where to see them and danged if she didn’t come back and tell me “Ah dun see um. Where dey at?”
(Irritated because she clearly was yanking my chain I walked her through the steps of where to see the page – then the images – all while clicking the same steps myself.)
Guess what…. no images.
(FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table…FACE PALM! Beat head on table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
So now I have a webpage that used to have an image gallery. (Actually, make that 13 pages that all had image galleries) And now they have none.
The kicker is this – in preview they are there. In live, nothing. They were there yesterday though…

Wish it was an option for me, but it’s not. I am with GoDaddy on a Managed WordPress hosting and once they upgrade the core files, there is no rolling back.
Did they ever resolve this for you?
I am now in the same exact situation as you are/were. I received a “Please send a ticket” reply via e-mail with zero in the way of solutions.
I now have a dead website sitting over the weekend waiting for them to return to work their banker hours on Monday. Good thing the internet only works 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

Unfortunately for me it did not work – BUT – your effort and time are immensely appreciated and I cannot thank you enough.
At this moment we will slog it out a little longer and see what’s what.
THANK YOU AGAIN. Mike
