Sorry for the slow reply. I just took one of your pptx files and was able to upload it successfully to my test site that I use for development.

Can you please double-check the following settings are correct:

Allow uploads to Dropbox when the WordPress user is not logged in: (If not set, the user needs to be logged in before a file can be uploaded).

Filename extensions to allow: Ensure pptx is included in a comma-separated list (if more than one extension). e.g. jpg,txt,pptx,ppt

Let me know if those are set as expected. Is there any sort of error message when you try to upload a file?

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear you’re having problems with the plugin. I’m not able to recreate the problem, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. Is there a website where I can see the problem first hand?

I’ll be looking at this problem within the next couple of days. Do you have an example site where I could see the problem first hand?

It would appear something is blocking the server from connecting to Dropbox. I’ll continue to research.

This seems to be they way that Dropbox delivers XML files. I’ll see if anything can be done, but I’ve not been successful in my initial tests.

I’ve just published v2.1.8 – that may help with this problem.

v2.1.8 may help. Can you please let me know here if that works for you now?

This plugin uses PHP’s cURL to access Dropbox’s API. It could be your web host doesn’t have that enabled. I hope to have additional support in the plugin for those hosts that don’t support cURL – but that might be a few days.

It might be due to a limitation of the size of file you’re upload and what’s defined on your hosting as a maximum. The plugin now shows the maximum allowed under “Upload Options”.
