  • I am finding Instant Articles to be excruciating. I have version 3.0.1 and the latest WP. When I go to “Facebook Instant Articles Settings” and select the button “Login with Facebook” I go straight to an error:

Can’t Load URL: The domain of this URL isn’t included in the app’s domains. To be able to load this URL, add all domains and subdomains of your app to the App Domains field in your app settings.

If you’re seeing that login button, that means you created the app at https://developers.facebook.com

You’re getting that error because even though you created the app, you probably didn’t finish setting it up. Facebook makes it pretty easy to set up (after you figure out what to do….which also took me forever to figure out).

    1. Go into the app you created for Instant Articles and click on it so you are taken to the dashboard

    2. If you haven’t made any changes to the settings, under the section that has the App ID and App Secret, you’ll see a box that says “Get started with the Facebook SDK”. Click on the “Choose Platform” button.

    3. Click on the “website” option

    4. Facebook will give you code snippet to paste in the <body> of your website. If you don’t already have a plugin that makes adding code snippets to your site easy, I recommend using Header and Footer

    5. After you copy and paste the first snippet they provided on your site you can go back to the settings page for the Instant Articles plugin, now when you click on the Login button you’ll see the login window asking if you want to give permissions to Facebook to access your site so it can send your articles to your Facebook Page

Good luck and I hope this helps!

I was having the same issue, but with version version 2.9. I deleted the plugin and tried again with 2.8 and that seems to have fixed the issue.

If you haven’t already I would suggest trying version 2.8 here.

Also, the first time I got the error message it said it required php 5.4 and up to run so make sure you are using a recent version of PHP.

    I hope this helps!
