In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Caching wrong page?!?I am having this exact problem. it only started a few weeks ago. The first time, it cached the first category in the queue, like you described. (Bad). Now, it’s caching index.php, which is also Very Bad because my home page is supposed to be index.html. The difference I have is, instead of doing it once a week it seems to pop up 5-10 hours after I manually clear the cache. Obviously it shouldn’t be messing with the home page at all since index.php is listed as an exclusion. I hope we can figure this out.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] caching of categories screwed upI am having weird problems with super cache lately too, at first I thought it was my brief experiment with lockdown but now I wonder if it started when the plugin offered to auto-upgrade a few weeks ago. Did you upgrade your version?

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] HELP: Super cache messing up my home pageIt didn’t work even after a complete removal and re-install, it STILL serves up a random cache for the homepage. Interestingly, it doesn’t do this until several hours have passed. Deleting the cache instantly solves the problem. HELP! I can’t uninstall super-cache, I have to make it work!

In reply to: Alinks Plugin?jtappan’s version of alinks works beautifully on my ‘small’ sites, but crashes the heck out of high-traffic ones (no fault of jtappan who obviously just made it better). Does anyone know a way to replicate the functions of alinks on a busy resource intensive server? Obviously all that search and replace is just a no-go if you have a fair number of defined phrases (100+) and a lot of traffic.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Super Cache freezes when comments approvedCurious if anyone else is having this problem? Seems like something I could hack to make work if I understood more about why supercache stops creating cache files but it does seem a bit complicated.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Super Cache freezes when comments approvedThe max cached files I’ve seen have been about 200. But it could be something like that. Typically there are much fewer cached files than that because of the comments issue (comments come in all day long). There are a lot of comments to deal with which might be the bottleneck, esp. since I’m using Paged Threaded Comments.
What would I check on my system to take a look where things might be going wonky? Memory, server load and disk space seem fine except when S/C gets stuck. Thanks so much for your reply.

In reply to: segmentation fault when using 2.3.2 and sitemaps 3.0.3I am having an identical type of segmentation fault (apache, WP 2.6, plugin alinks) using a different plugin. So far not finding any other error messages that would help identify the problem so I am also confused.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Supercache almost(?) working? All right, I am not trying to be a pain in the butt, but what things would cause Super Cache to stop caching pages? I find that something will sometimes cause it to cache three or so pages, and then freeze at that amount until I do something like clear the cache. I am not sure if it’s moderating comments that causes this “freeze” or something else. Anyone have any guesses?

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Supercache almost(?) working?Hey, thanks for your reply. I ended up taking off gzip because my server was having big problems with all that executable activity, but now pages seem to serve up fast, especially as anon. Thanks for the confirmation that things are working! ??

In reply to: Weakening built-in spam control in WP comments? It’s not a blog … it’s an intensely customized CMS that works just fine and would involve many otherwise pointless hours just to “upgrade.”
I’m sure that there are wordpress users who remember quite a bit about 1.5.2 if they’re not actually still running it.
Still would appreciate any guidance about the original question.
