In this instance, I am using Profit Builder Editor and the PB Theme from the same company (wpprofitbuilder.com). I’ve noticed a few other issues with their software, like not being able to override CSS for Gravity Forms (a super huge drag considering I use GF for so many things) and some other stuff. They have a great tool and it makes great looking pages, it’s just not as compatible as I would like it to be with other tools.
It is what it is I suppose.

One other thing, I had to copy the entire content of the plugins final output to an actual post page in order to style the post to match the site.

I figured out how to make the pages, I just didn’t actually find the pages themselves till I went to make a custom menu and they were list on the side of the menu editor under “terms”. It would have been helpful to know that they weren’t directly added to the posts or pages lists like legal page plugins I’ve used before.
No worries, it’s all working now and I even managed to delete the extra copies but I couldn’t tell you how I did that since I can’t seem to replicate the process now.

I found the pages listed under terms in the menu dashboard while setting up a new menu. Every saved version I made while trying to figure out where the pages were being saved. Wish that was in the docs, would have saved me a lot of time. I still haven’t found where they are being saved. Would like to know where the pages are so I can delete all the copies I now have.

I’ve plugged it into a rebuild I was working on and it seems to be functioning very well for the limited use I need it for.

I am rebuilding a website shortly and will have the opportunity to test the latest version of the plugin. I’ll update my findings here.

I updated the NG to 2.0.66 yesterday and the back end just had TAGs available and all the rest of the backend options were missing. Not sure why (as they were there last week when I dialed it back again to 1.9x) but I don’t really have time to investigate. I’m getting ready to do some security updates/manipulations right now so I really can’t spare the site for study at this time. As soon as I finish up I’ll try to get a bug report in and set up back end access for your team, no promises though, I’m buried in multiple client accounts as well as outside responsibilities.

It’s been almost a year and I’ve submitted more than a hundred bug reports to various developers since NG went to 2.0 so I couldn’t tell you if I did or didn’t at this point. Most likely I did but who knows anymore, things move fast on my end.

My apologise, I overstepped my bounds posting that link and speaking my mind. I shall endeavor to be more Politically Correct and mind the rules.

Errors not mine, spent two weeks working through every written solution I
could find online. Used every tool suggested to find errors. Used error fixes that went nowhere. Went straight to the source multiple times and every time I posted my issue they redirected me to their paid support page.
If iThemes didn’t want bad reviews they should have left an open forum on their website and “managed” the free version through serious PR control. At least then I wouldn’t be reading other peoples frustations on various other forums prompting me to chip in my own 2 cents.
Don’t suggest I’m at fault, I did my due diligence and adhered to my fiduciary responsibility to my clients. I feel justified in my review having completed the necessary checks and balances to get the plugin to work with sites both old and brand new.

For everyone who has had enough of the iThemes Security plugin!! Read the following (i’ll be brief):
In 2010 after a nasty break in on my server and losing 50+ site to a hacker I looked for an alternative to my hosting provided security package. I found a series of videos about securing my WP sites through a affiliate link. It was cheap (under $20.00 USD) and the info was solid. Better WP Security was one of the main plugins referenced in the tutorials and since implementing all the info I have not had a breach since (and my sites are still secure at this time). I have not shared this info before because I did not want anyone knowing what I do to secure my sites.

Today that series updated it’s info and I repurchased access for yet less than $20. The tutorials and info is completely new and it does not contain BWPS any longer. As a matter of fact the entire security suite of tools referenced is different. I have had great luck with the supplied info in locking down my sites from the last package.

Now I have just wasted several weeks trying to get iThemes Security to work without locking my clients and I out for the stupidest of sh*t. The whitelist obviously doesn’t work and the 404’s I’m getting from the log file don’t even exist (referenced URL’s with 404’s load perfectly fine so it’s a false positive from the new plugin)

I have listed a link on my personal website [link moderated] (at bottom of home page) that is an affiliate link for this info. Consider a small portion of your purchase a tip to me for turning you on to a solution that’s less than $150.00 or more a year. If you would rather not show any appreciation for my small bit of help, strip the affiliate link or just look up the product by it’s name on JVZoo.

My clients sites don’t get hacked because of the info I got from these guys. I’m sure a lot of you can appreciate a low cost solution that doesn’t involve “any corporations” blantant attempt to cash in on a security scare.

I am being locked out even while whitelisting my I.P. address. How do I get back into my own sites after being locked out without removing the plugin. Because I can’t reinstall the plugin without being locked out again and the error I’m being locked out for is not of my creation but of the theme developers.

Forget it. I found the write up on accessing the database and deleting my I.P. there.

Latest update Version 4.0.27: Can’t update CSS code, save anything, enter i.p. addresses for white listing, build a product, edit a form. I can’t do anything without getting locked out. Checked the log file, which hit 195mb inside of a few seconds, and everything (every plugin and the theme) is being nailed as an Error or 404.

(following day) After a week plus of nonsense on both existing sites and new ones I have opted to remove iThemes plugin due to so many errors and lockouts. Going back to BWPS 3.6.6. and my old security set up because it worked flawlessly and it was free to boot.

I have tried repeatedly to get this new version of BWPS to work and all it does is lock me out no matter what I click on. I read up on checking for 404 errors but really don’t have time to do this across hundreds of sites manifesting errors for pages and files that NEVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE!

My personal opinion on this is that iThemes has overstepped it’s bounds in trying to capture a buck by forcing users to pay for support. I shouldn’t have to search log files and be locked out repeatedly during a (even after whitelisting my IP) hunt for bugs I didn’t create. It would have been far better to just post a log of errors for the admin to review rather than repeatedly lock the admin and everyone else for that matter out of existing (and now new) sites.

If it wasn’t for the ease of use with their Backup Buddy plugin I wouldn’t use anything from them anymore, much less pay for it.

Well I finally stabilized the iThemes Security plugin today and it updated and promptly locked me out of the website even with my whitelisted I.P.

I switched to this one because Google Analyticator keeps breaking, randomly, from site to site. This Web Ninja works on some of my sites if I plug it in (breaks immediately) and leave it for 24 hours till it syncs. If it doesn’t I yank it and try something else.
