I have the same issue in Safari 11.1 with the latest version of WordPress, all plugins diasabled and the default theme used. I’ve found if the file upload field is left empty then the form will hang, but if the field is populated then the form will submit as normal.

Me again. It appears to be a browser based issue. The failure occurs using Safari (v11.1 on macOS 10.12.6). Tried it on Chrome and Firefox on my Mac and Edge on a PC and they all work perfectly.

Thanks for getting back to me. In the original post I did mention turning all plugins off and the problem occurring across several domains with various themes, so these do not seem to be the issue.

However, I have done a fresh install of the latest WordPress on a temp url and only installed the Contact Form 7 plugin using the default theme. This setup should alleviate any possible conflicts.

I have created a form with only a file upload field on it. Originally I thought it was a validation conflict but it appears not, there is no validation on this form. If the file upload field is left empty the form just hangs on submission, if you attach a file it goes through ok.

Spent the whole of yesterday afternoon trying to fix this unsuccessfully. Got up this morning and all the forms are working correctly again. Spooky

Hi. I have exactly the same issue. It’s been working perfectly for months up until today. Nothing has changed on the website as regards the theme, any additional plugins or their settings, but I’m now getting the same ‘There was an error trying to send your message‘?

I couldn’t agree more. I have a lot of previous ‘from’ address set to the email address entered by the form user, now that generates a configuration error. It’s been a complete nightmare to go through all my sites and reconfigure them to the actual domain name.

On a previous integration I had a basic script to enter the posts sent from Broadbean. When the ‘add’ command was received, I had it check if the application email (I think you use the job ref) already existed for a job and if it did, it updated that post rather than adding a new one.

No problem though, I’ll do as you suggest and get Broadbean to delete the post first.

Hi. I have exactly the same issue. Needed to restrict users from entering a space in their username during initial registration. Downloaded this plugin as it sounded perfect for my needs. Unfortunately it hasn’t stopped anyone from entering a space. I am also using Theme My Login 6.4.1 to keep users out of the backend during this process.

WordPress 4.3.1. Paid Memberships Pro 1.8.3.

I just did a new site install and now when I activate MaxGalleria, Contact Form 7 vanishes from the admin menu???
