I did consider the multi currency plugins and will surely use one. However, I will still be left with a currency that Paypal will not be able to process (not INR incidentally).

As per the link you provided Currency Switcher for Easy Digital Downloads, they offer this note in the product description:

Please Note Your ability to accept payment in each currency will depend on your payment gateway and/or payment processing company, so your Customers will need to complete their purchase in the appropriate currency.
