In reply to: [Gallery Custom Links] New Version Shows Lightbox Upon BackI was having this same issue. I finally figured out the solution (at least for me), and thought maybe it would help you, too.
If you have Jetpack installed, go to the Jetpack Settings screen and the Writing tab. Turn OFF the “Display images in a full-screen carousel gallery”. This solved the issue for me.I hope this helps!

In reply to: [Gallery Custom Links] Gallery Link no longer working correctlyThank you for your response. I have been trying to get the Gallery links to work, but still haven’t figured out a way. All new posts I tested had the same thing happen as the one I linked to originally.
Here is a screenshot of the HTML for that post – I see nothing out of the ordinary in the code:
I did discover something interesting though – if you hover over one of the gallery images and look at the lower-left bar in the window, you see the image file initially and then that URL changes right away to the external link, which you can then click on. BUT, you have to hover, wait for the URL to change, and then click. It never worked like this before the update.
And, I also discovered if I create a new blog article using Gallery Custom Links to external URLs and then PREVIEW the article before it’s published, clicking the gallery images go directly to the external URLs. But, when I actually publish that same article and then click a gallery image in the published version, it first opens on an attachment page as I originally posted. Weird.
Any additional ideas I can try?

In reply to: [HitMag] Feature Suggestion – Include Featured Image OptionsI just saw the update for the theme, and there is now the option to Show or Hide the Featured Image in the Customizer. Thank you for that.
Unfortunately, this is an all or nothing switch. If it’s on, the Featured Images appear on the blog posts. If this option is turned off, the Featured Images do not show. But there is no way to turn this feature on or off for individual blog posts.
There are some blog posts where the Featured Images works well (although it would be nice to be able to choose the alignment), and other blog posts where the Featured Images isn’t needed. Having this option as a checkbox on each individual blog post is far more flexible. Especially moving forward.
Right now, I use the CSS to hide the Featured Image on the posts I want it hidden. Yet, other posts have the Featured Image and is needed there. Because of this, I can’t use this new On/Off switch in the Customizer. If I turn the Featured Image off, I would then have to go back through all the blog articles that need the Featured Image to make sure to add that image as an image in the blog article so it still shows up.
Going forward, it would just be more flexible to be able to choose this option on a per blog article basis. For example, this screenshot shows another blog I have (using a different theme) and how you can turn on or off the featured image per blog article – https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1035/5433/files/FeaturedImageOptions.jpg?1213959513362476389
Maybe this can be added as a future change?
Thanks again for being responsive to suggestions.

In reply to: Archive Headings Not Updating the Month on Archive PagesSorry about that – I didn’t realize the problem was caused by a theme.
Thank you for the link.

In reply to: [WP Gallery Custom Links] Changing Default SettingsThank you! I use your plugin on three separate blogs with a team of people. This would be a HUGE HUGE HUGE time saver on all three blogs.
Thank you for your quick reply, and I really hope this is a change that happens soon – much appreciated!
THANK YOU!!!! While I wasn’t able to delete the Password-Protected folder , I was able to rename it and the blog is functional again! VERY thankful for your help!
I would still like to put a password on the entire blog. I’m not sure why the problem occurred in the first place, perhaps the version of WordPress I have is too old – I have not updated to 3.8.1 (fearing an update will somehow disable the blog and I won’t know how to fix it).
Again, I sincerely appreciate your help. Thank you!!!
Still hopeful for some help regarding this issue. Cannot do anything with the blog at this point, and am desperate for help.
Honestly, I am not sure what version of WordPress I have – I can’t check that now since I can’t get to anything in the Dashboard or Admin part of the blog. I see that it says to update to 3.8.1 at the top of the screen, but I have not done that (afraid to, quite honestly, as I don’t know what updating might do to what I already have set up).
I logged into my blog as Admin, went to the Plugins menu and choose Add New. From there, I searched for password protect, found the plugin and clicked Install and then Activate. That’s all I did. The screen immediately went blank – except for the left navigation. When I click on ANY of the left nav links, they do not open up – the screen just stays blank. I was never prompted to enter a password after installing the plugin.
I took a screen shot of what I am seeing right now, but I don’t see a way to attach it to this message.
Is there some way of uninstalling this? I’m literally dead-in-the-water right now as I cannot access posts, pages, or anything.
Appreciate your help! Thank you!
