  • Hi again Michael:
OK … the problem is still persisting with Mod 1.1 installed.

To better show you, I’ve uploaded a jpg — I’ve just taken 3 screen shots of 3 different blog posts with the goofed-up image; to the right of each screen shot is the way the image is supposed to show. **Note: when I refreshed the page, the image corrected itself.

To try and see if it does it for you in real time, here’s my blog: https://the-artistic-garden.com/blog/

Please note that sometimes it doesn’t happen. But the way I got it to occur today was by starting at the home page, and then every time i clicked “Older entries” link, that resulting page had goofed up images. Refreshing corrected it, as I said.

Every now and then, this issue does not occur, as when I clicked over to the “Newsletter Sign Up” page – that image appeared correctly.

And yes … IE is quirky. Maybe IE8 will be a blessing to all of us!

Let me know what you think. (Can a simple line of coding correct this?)

    Thanks!

    Hiya Michael:
Gee thanks for looking into this. I gotta tell you the issue persists on a RANDOM basis for me, but if I refresh the post/page it corrects itself soooooooo … I’ve no clue how to make it “stick” so you can see it.

On another note … I just installed Rubayat’s Mod 1.1 (I really needed wider content area and less leader) and will see if perhaps this weird image glitch stops.

    Will let you know.

(BTW – watching your progress w/michaelangelo — really like the “scotch taped” corners.)

    Hey there rhalpha:
Love the mods and have tried out on my EG theme, but … ??

Your image fix (or somthing else??) for IE is making all images (yes I am using photo frames as default) turn into 1/4-inch wide vertical slits! Refreshing page does no good. Neglected to check in Firefox before I uninstalled your mod files.

I am running Vista 64-bit; and have IE7 for what it’s worth. Haven’t upgraded to 8 yet, but most of my blog visitors aren’t super-tech people, so have to make sure it is very compatible w/7.

Am experiencing quirk with photo issues in Tyson’s default EG theme, but nothing like what your mods are doing, sorry to say.

Barely any addt’l plugins loaded into blog. Nothing else as far as image plugins are concerned. I’m no super-duper smartie tech person, so my tech skills are limited, but i do understand uploading themes, etc. And know how to make changes to stylesheet. So am not completely illiterate . :p

Why might I be having this problem? REALLY want to be able to run w/your mods. EXCEPT I wish you had a work around to keep photo frame in IE as I really like that presentation.

Looking forward to your reply. TY

TY esmi so much — the h2 snippet was what I was missing.

    Hi:
Yes I too have images w/photo frame issues in IE7 (haven’t upgraded yet to IE8). But my problem is a bit more erratic, in that sometimes an image w/frame is downsized, say around 25% or so, but if you refresh the page it comes up full size.

    Sometimes it never happens.

Other issue is sometimes a smaller photo will first appear smaller than a thumbnail, though the photo frame stays almost correct size. Upon refreshing, all is well.

Mr. Tyson … any fixes for this?? ?? Especially since IE is still ruling the roost as to percentage of users vs. other browsers.

Thanks esmi – have implemented and works fine.

Guess my problem resulted from trying to add in the mouse-over color change (like gawariel.com). That’s where I got hung up – the mouse-over code I was adding along with line 61 code was affecting each post title and changed it’s color upon mouse over.

    That’s when I realized a mouse-over command wasn’t as easy to do as I thought. Or I wasn’t using the correct words/command??

I was somewhat frazzled after an hour or so of trying variations and guess the simplistic approach of just changing anchor text color left my brain :p

    TY again.

    Hi esmi:
    Thanks for offer to help.

Oh gee … no my site isn’t gawareil’s. He did a very nice modification.

But I did upload and try out rubayathasan.com E-G MOD V1.3 because I would love to have many of the modifications he made. Such as the colored and underlined link text. Also would very much like to have a wider content are; less wasted space; header space decreased.

But my biggest problem with his version was all my images turned into 1/4-inch wide slits. (I have zero problems w/IE7 messing with the image frames as he has posted. And I like the way they appear in Michael’s version.)

So … I uninstalled and reinstalled Michael’s version and then gave up. Came here to try and get a simple anchor text fix for now.

    Thanks ??
