I managed to find a way to achieve what I was looking for.

I was able to find a plugin that could remove the ‘category’ base prefix in the URL structure, so this was the workaround.

Thanks for confirming. I deactivated the plugins but strangely, still no luck. I thought the AIOSEO plugin was going to be what was causing the problem due to a thread saying someone had a similar issue but with Yoast.

I think I will have to get in touch with a developer, I haven’t faced this issue before so I’m a little confused. I appreciate your help!

Hi @threadi thanks for your quick response! I tried the first two methods (permalink save and theme) but no luck.

Before I go ahead with deactivating plugins there’s one I was concerned about, AIOSEO Plugin – If I deactivate this will it reset all my SEO settings? Sorry I don’t expect you to know this but thought I would check just incase.
