I solved this problem by downloading this contact form to another of my web sites and compared the two and found the problem. The contact form that I was having trouble with came with a purchased template and there was a minor problem with the way mail was set up.

Sorry but I am new to this and don’t know much about this plugin. I have the same plugin that I received with a template that I purchased. I am also having a problem getting mine working. Fortunatly my post was answered by Takayuki Miyoshi who is the author of this plugin. He is working with me to solve the problem. If you can not solve the problem you may want to contact him.

I put my email address in the from field. Still doesn’t work. I get the aknowlegment email message. But don’t get the actual message from the sender in my hosting email account In the mail section designated To: I replaced the gerneric email address that it was populated with using my own which is probably wrong. I don’t know what was originally there so I can change it back. I see that you are the author of this plugin. Would you like me to send you my login information so that you can look at it. If you can give me a secure way of providing this information so it won’t post on the forum.
    Thanks for your help.

There was an email address already in the To: location. it looked like a sample that was to be replaced with my own email address. So I replaced it with [email protected] . I put a message in the message body field. I did not put anything in the From field. I put Green Screen in the subject field. Nothing in the phone field. That’s all that I did.
    Thanks for responding.

    HI
You may have already done this but it is worth a mention.
In your wordpress web site go to the settings page for the plugin. At the top of the page there will be a message: Copy this code and paste it into your post, page or text widget content.
Just below the message will be a line of HTML. Copy this line and paste it into your post page for the Contact 7 plugin.
Hope that helps as I’m kind of new to this myself.

Thanks, I thought it was in the WordPress site where I normally upload theme templates. I called my hosting company and they showed me how to get to the root of the domain.
    Thanks again

I switched to the Twenty Eleven Theme as you suggested and everything worked OK. At that point I realized everything was different than what I was previously seeing on screen. It was the third party theme that was giving me the settings that I was having problems with. I reloaded my original third party theme that I was using and everything was back to normal.
The name of the theme is “Profits Theme” The problems were not with WordPress as I originally thought but the theme that I was using. I had accidently dragged the theme setting causing all of the problems. That’s why when I talked about page setting there was confusion between what would normally be seen vs. what I was seeing. It was the theme that was providing the setting and not WordPress.
Thanks for your help. Your suggestion of changing to another theme solved the problem.

I checked the screen options at the top right of the “Add New” Page screen and it is checked for two columns.
When you go to the admin of my web site in WordPress at the dashboard and click on the pages icon in the left hand tool bar. The drop down menu gives two choices “All Pages” or “Add New”. The choice I used is “Add New”. This screen is labeled Add New Page. My problem exists in the WoordPress screen not functioning properly and has nothing to do with my web site pages. I’m pretty sure that I have affected the HTML of the WoodPress page and deleted the diolog box of the “Add New Page”in the WordPress Site. Do you know how I can get in touch with a tech support person with WordPress to have them look at it.
    Thanks

I had just watched a tutorial on the drop and drag feature of WordPress. I went to the dashboard and selected pages new. As I recall the dialog box opened showing the settings for a landing page. I closed the dialog box and was getting familiar with the PT Landing page Settings choices.I think that I clicked the very first choice at the top which is “page settings” and mistakenly dragged the Page Settings out to the middle of the screen. This may have changed the program HTML because whenever I try to open the dialog box for settings the dialog box no longer opens. Instead it now prints the settings information down the center of the page that has all of the settings choices. It no longer opens the dialog box. When it prints down the center of the page each line of type actually starts near the center of the page with the line of type finishing at the left side border of the page. All of the choices such as landing “page width” and scrolling down to the bottom where the choice “Short Privacy Policy” is located. The type in some lines overlaps the type that is already on the “Ad Pages” page. I may have to completly delete my web site and start from new to correct this problem if it inadvertently altered the program HTML.
Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
