thanks for the reply. having backwards/inbound references (on the new site) is not an option. providing news on the old site is the only option. looks like there’s no shortcut to doing a lot of work in WP… sometimes i miss the old Dreamweaver days!

#metoo. i tried elementors style kits to allow me to do some basic, obviously needed, control over font styles, not possible within Ele Pro. HUGE MISTAKE !! I still didnt have sensible control over font styles, so i removed the kit plugin…

Now i too have War And Peace size css code on almost every element, causing conflicts, loss of control, etc. What a mess !!!!!!!

i think it was caching causing my problems. There was a wordpress plugin adding caching, there was my browser adding caching, and even my isp i think adds caching. Anyways, its all sorted now.

update: after cleaning cache, it all looks ok.
i’ve re-uploaded my images.
i’m currently going through each folder, doing a ‘sync’

was all this due to cache ?????????
what was the original problem… my head hurts… more tomorrow…

update: i’ve deleted all i can, i’ve reset DB a few times, repeated again and again and it seems i’ve got rid of everything.

Now i upload a few images, activate MediaFolders, click on Sync, and…

and i some OLD images ?!?!?!?!?!?! some new images have same name as old images, but i see the old ones. Caching maybe, lets delete caches, and force fresh everything…

update:
i used FTP to delete ALL files and folders in ‘uploads’.
i used your DB Reset to reset db.

i used an extra plugin called Media Cleaner by Jordy Meow – this found numerous image references, that it deleted.

i then went to media library, saw that there were *still* a lot of images, selected all images, and deleted them.

So my WP is empty of images, and references to images, yes ??????????????

Now i Activate Media Library Folders… and…

ALL the old folders are still there !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and one even has some images (that were in a different folder before).

HAS this plugin made a mess of everything ?????????

I disagree. There are plenty of plugins that show a blank calendar. I think WP already includes one by default. Maybe i missed something – what does your free version do that all the other free versions dont already do?

Always good advice – one small step at a time.
So i ftp’d 1 jpg into uploads folder (checked its still 644), activated *just* AddFromServer and again – cannot copy to same place. (And still cant go up folderlevels if i enter any).

why would my wordpress be incomplete??????????

i tried delete thumb cache (under other tab)

also, when i do a search, i see a list of image info and thumbs.
i select All – update media,
and *then* only some work and some do not…

This (plugin) update has fixed the problems with the menu. Now i’m back to using Language Switching Buttons (LSB). And my users are complaining less…

my fresh installation cannot find either. i’ve made sure there are no filters applied, and i’ve tried the featured/latest options – i even scrolled to the end in case it was just an order issue…
