Hannah: Yes the toolkit is installed and activated.

Kadence Themes: This is a fresh install; so, everything is bang up to date. I’m not using a caching plug-in either.

I have tried de-activating any plug-ins that could possibly conflict, but no improvement.

I did have a holding page up on the site because it’s a shop concept I’m putting together on a test server. But, I have taken the holding page down and stripped the site back to just leave the contact page showing, so you can take a look.

Even though nobody answered my distress call here, someone did on Stackoverflow.

In case it helps someone else, I think the issue related to template hierarchy.

I created a page called “page-front” which WordPress looks for first when compiling the homepage; if page-front isn’t there WordPress looks for the next homepage options according to the hierarchy – see support section on hierrchy. Then, I added my HTML to that page.

This issue has been sorted out, finally.

My host made a comment about timing out and external sources which made me look at the site again from a different perspective.

I compared the problem site and the test site (which was fine) and noticed that the footer widgets were missing from the test site. This caused me to look deeper and I found that the RSS feed was indeed ‘timing out’ in Jobify.

Therefore, I disabled the RSS feed widget and bingo! The site immediately speeded up. Yes!

I have just uninstalled openbook data, then installed the plugin again; but, still no button. I have not updated to WordPress 3.9.1 either.

Thanks, because I am quickly losing the will to live reading through everything that has to be done at the amazon end in order to use the more complicated amazon alternative.

This was answered for me in Stackoverflow by @Howlin. I’m posting the answer here in case it helps someone else:

The [Line] is being added to the page by this piece of code:

add_action( ‘woocommerce_single_product_summary’, create_function( ”, ‘echo do_shortcode(“[line]”);’ ) );

in the woocommerce/content-single-product.php file

to remove the [line] you do one of two things:

Change that piece of code to

add_action( ‘woocommerce_single_product_summary’, create_function( ”, ‘echo do_shortcode(” “);’ ) );

Or,

Remove/comment out that line, but in doing that you will need to add clear:left; to the .single-product.woocommerce div.product .description style:

.single-product.woocommerce div.product .description
{
margin-top: 20px;
margin-bottom: 20px;
clear: left;
}

otherwise the description will come onto the same line as the product title.
