Problem solved…

Problem was that I did not add the SSL domain to GSC, just the http domain.

Why that was not offered as a possiable cause I don’t know but I would suggest that maybe in the future it is not assumed that someone would know to do that.

I had given up and now I’m trying again…

Freash domain install and different server. SAME issue!

1. Are you using the latest Yoast SEO 10.0?
Yes.

2. Are you getting any console errors?
No.

3. Did you reach the part where it asks you to login to your Google account as shown in this article? https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/connect-search-console-retrieve-crawl-issues/
I am ALWAYS logged into Google and domain has been added and verified in GSC.

4. If you use a different browser, does the authentication go through?
No.
Tried on 5 different browers and 4 different computers. (just for good measure)

5. Have you tried performing a conflict check to see if there’s a different plugin preventing the issue to happen?
ALL plugins deactivated. (except Yoast)

I used Elementor shortcode element to place the shortcode on the page.

??

Hm… maybe I don’t need to purchase the Pro version after all.

Um… how about to the post page itself? I con not select “All Post.

Um… that’s what I am talking about. After activation, It DOES NOT show up in the Elementor elements window…

Well…

The left and right sidebars are really wider than I would like but that’s the bast I can come up with tonight.

I’ll save the section as a template because I know I’ll probably screw it up again. Lol…

OK…

Three columns on a blank page solved that issue but there is a huge gap in between them. Still playing withit but have not figured it out yet.

Yeah… I have “Classic Editor” installed.
No Gutenburg Blocks but that is good to know for future reference.

Yeah… I know, I will be weeding them out as time goes on, hehe. One thing that is bothering me is that there is no element for a descent menu build in the free version like there is in the Pro version.

I’ve tried all the addon’s I could find. I just don’t understand why such a basic feature is only in the Pro version of Elementor. Element Pack had a descent one but it caused a conflict so I had to delete it.

I agree on learning the basics first but again, the free version has NO element to put in the menu I created in WP so I’ve been trying everyone I could find.

If you know of a good one, please let me know ?? Being on Disability makes the money very tight, so for now, it’s free versions all the way. At least until after my liver transplant. Then hopefully I can get back to work and make some descent money. {or learn site building well enough to make some money doing that ?? }

The Styles issue has been resolved. I was wrong, I did a bulk “Deactivate” of what I thought was all the non essential plugins but I guess I had missed one. Wouldn’t you know, that exact one was the culprit.

BTW… how can you tell that I have a bunch of addon’s installed?

You sound like you really know what you are doing. Hopefully one day I will get there also ??

It may have been down for a few mins while I was working on it. Just remember, at this point, I am just playing with settings and trying different things.

Actually, I installed a browser that I have never used before and got the same results.

All other functions work just fine.

So… I just tried it again, (after dinner) and I do get some options in the Style tab when I put in a Heading or Text Editor element but there is no background option.

All I want to know how to do (right now) is create a full width, stretched colored bar (or section) from edge to edge and put like a heading and other text in it.

Would you be able to help me understand how to do that? I can not find a video that explains exactly that.

When I watch the following short video, the lady does it on a section and it shows a background option, so I am lost.
