Also curious what was determined with this, it seems like a CRUCIAL feature that is needed. I’ve just found this JS-based option, but I have no idea as to its viability. I may give it a shot in the coming days – otherwise, I have no path forward to preventing content admins from clobbering specifically-designed page layouts.

I’ve just experienced this, and for me, deactivating the Yoast SEO plugin fixed it. Obviously, this is NOT a valid solution, as Yoast is a big daddy plugin that is on most all of my sites. Hoping this thread gets some traction because this is a pretty urgent conflict to resolve…

@scdan, this is great sleuthing. In the months since, my Client moved on from the CPT-as-Tax request, but I went back and verified this anyway, for future reference. One of my four taxonomies was slugified; replacing with underscore solved the problem. Thanks!

It feels like support for this plugin has ended. Does anyone have an alternative that has worked for them? It’s unfortunate, this plugin appears to do exactly what I need, but it’s busted and the developer is AWOL.

This is happening to me as well, WP v4.7.3. Anyone know of a solution, or is this plugin just busted until an update rolls out?

I referenced this thread in the one I created earlier this morning for the exact same issue. This helped me tremendously, so I wanted to link them in case it helps someone else. Here’s the link. It is indeed the name of the email field that causes the issue (if it’s set to anything other than ‘your email’). I initially wanted to blame my new hosting at Rackspace…my bad, Rackspace.

Final Update: My apologies – the issue was not at all with the Download Monitor plugin, but rather the Email Before Download plugin. Specifically, using a field name other than ‘your-email’ for the email field was causing the snafu. Here’s the specific support thread addressing it. I hope this helps someone else; it doesn’t sit well with me that something this trivial could jack everything up. I’d like to see the Email Before Download devs generalize this in their code, so any field name could be used for the email field. FWIW, there are 6 references to ‘your-email’ as the field name in the plugin code, and the readme.txt specifies that this field name must be used.

Update: Rackspace CDN was red herring. The issue is definitely with Download Monitor – I was running version 1.9.0 on dev, and the current version 1.9.1 on live. I just updated dev to the newest version (1.9.1), and now the same failing behavior is happening on dev. Looking at the v.1.9.1 changelog, I don’t see anything that looks suspect. Please help! Thanks.

I’m showing a ‘jquery not defined’ error, maps.js?ver=4.3, line 1. Just updated both plugin and WP to latest and error appeared. Any ideas?
