Thanks so much for the feedback on this plugin. We originally built the plugin for icy weather updates for a client of ours but when COVID hit we ended up adding it to dozens of sites almost overnight. It’s great for a quick/simple message and seems to work well with most themes/plugins. Glad it solved your issue and thanks for the kind words about our little bundle of code.

I have a username and password to go with my API link. Can you you let me know exactly how this should be formatted in the oAuth section?

I see this statement: oAuth Bearer accesskey: passed in header as “Authorization: Bearer accesskey”
(add “nobearer ” – mind the space! – if you want to pass “Authorization:accesskey”):

but I’m not sure how to structure the text that goes in this field.
    Thanks

    Hi There,

I’m not having the same issue on any of our installs. Can you let me know which theme you have active and have you disabled the plugins to see if it’s a specific plugin conflict? We haven’t detected any issues from the most recent WP version but happy to push an update if we can track down the bug causing this problem.

    Thanks,
    Boomer

    Hi There,

One question that our developer is wondering is:

“do the files names for the archive and single templates match the post type name that’s defined under the Advanced Post Type Settings when you go to create post type?

You’ll want to make sure that the single and archive pages contain the name of the new post type. By default the new post will have a name like bbd_pt_1443 but you can change this under the Advanced Post Type settings (first option in this accordion). You’ll want the name of your PHP files to be something like single-talent.php or whatever your post type name is.

Hope this helps and I’m glad you’re digging the plugin. Feel free to drop up a review if you get it working well for your site.

    Thanks,
    Boomer

    Hi Larry,

A few options/suggestions for you. I would set the business type (restaurant, hotel, etc) as a standard taxonomy similar to the built in “category” taxonomy that is attached to the posts. For the location I would use a custom field which you can setup through ACF or another custom field plugin. We’ve got a similar setup here: https://firstpeaknc.com/business-category/bed-and-breakfasts-and-inns/

We are using facetWP to filter down and the filter mechanism is a mixture of custom fields and taxonomies.

Let me know if this works out for you or if you need any other direction on this. We’ve got probably 30-40 sites setup very similar to what you’re trying to accomplish.

    Thanks,
    Boomer

p.s. If it works out for you, please drop us a review on the repo.

Have you tried to disable all the plugins except the Big Boom Directory and turn them on one by one to find the problem? Also please let me know about the questions from my previous ticket response.

    Thanks,

I’ve checked out a fresh install of WP with only the directory plugin installed and everything seems to be loading for me. Three questions for you: what language do you have your install set to? Have you disabled all plugins except the directory plugin to see if this helps. Also what theme are you using on your site?

    Thanks,
    Boomer

Hi There, Can you confirm that the core, plugins and theme are all up to date on your site? Also have you tried to temporarily disable all plugins except the Big Boom Directory to see if this helps?
    Thanks,

Hi There, can you further explain the issue that you’re having? Is this on the classic editor or while using Gutenberg? Specifically what is breaking?

    Hi There,
We have rolled out a new version that should solve this issue. Please update the plugin and let me know if this doesn’t solve the problem.

    Hi There,

I’ve got two options that might help. When you setup the field set did you set the conditional logic to say “If post type is equal to (the name of your post type) show field set” This is in the ACF settings sections.

The other option is that in the settings for the specific Post Type there is an accordion called (Fields Select) that will let you select the field set that is applied as well as the the different fields in that field set that shows.

Let me know if this doesn’t work for you and I’ll keep digging.

    Hi EclipseDesignConcepts,

I’m sorry that our plugin does not support multiple instances on one site. It would take a considerable amount of time for us to rework the plugin in order for this functionality to exist. We might offer this functionality in the future but this was never the intended purpose of this plugin.

    Thanks,

    Hi Salvatore,

I’m actually working on tutorial content this week. I’ll be posting a few blogs posts and videos about how to get a site setup using the plugin. Stay tuned.

    Thanks,

I did manage to find the updated add-on for Extended Views and this has fixed the problem. Thank you.

I was unable to find the newer version on your website when I initially made this post, but after your comment I dug a little deeper. I was looking in My Account > Purchases previously, and did not see the Extended Views add-on.

Then I realized that even though it’s now a free add-on, I still had to “purchase” it again and then I was able to download the latest version. I am just posting this here in case it helps someone else in the future.

    Thanks again for you help.
