I had the same issue. My problem was a conflict with another Calendar plug-in that I had not yet deactivated. I was replacing it with this one. I spotted the problem while looking at some page source for the blank Events page. As soon as I deactivated the old plug-in the Events List displayed as expected. Everything else worked but only the Events list was affected so it took me a while to figure it out. Just something to check. Good luck.
