I finally found the phpMyAdmin and database and created a new password and it worked!!

Unfortunately, all my headaches and wasted time and all the time by the people helping is also wasted because the developers have not fixed the problem.

Unfortunately I do not have phpMyAdmin installed or experience using it.
I saw the option of using FTP to temporarily reset the password.
I copied wp-config.php. I do no see the active theme’s function file defined. How do I know what theme I am using?
I see twentyten through twentyfourteen an each has a function.php.

I tried via a cell phone and that did not work either. For months I have on spare minutes tried different browsers, computers, email access methods, without success.

Why is this apparent basic problem not fixed? I see 1650 messages with the same problem, month after months maybe even years. Other websites never have this problem, at least I have never seen it.

I do not know php, ftp and so on to use those options in the often referenced link to this problem.

Are there any other simple suggestions to help me out?
