Thanks for this.

We use Newsletter now, rather than Mail Poet. However, I did find we were getting some post not published, when scheduled, so I added a plugin to ensure all posts were published.

I wonder if that is the culprit? “Missed Schedule Post Publisher”

If not, I’m not sure where else to look for what you suggest; it makes sense to me – I just don’t know what other settings it could be that I’d need to check/disable.

Do you have any suggestions for where I could look in the WP dashboard, in case it isn’t that missed post plugin?

then i’m not sure what you’re asking for – how do i show you the html for the email?

our website is currently offline until this coming Friday, while we rebuild to a new theme

however, this is the url from the last email that was sent out from a post

in the past i have disabled all plugins and set the theme to the very theme you suggest with no change.

i’ve now changed the theme again and there was no change.

i’ve even tried another blog of mine with no change – so it evidently isn’t a plugin conflict or an issue with any particular theme

i will also post it at the location you suggest.

i marked a spam as it is unhelpful to anybody – there were no other options to report such an unhelpful individual

i’ve always found these forums to be brilliant with helpful people…this is the first time i’ve had such an opposite experience

admins who get involved have always been exemporary in their help, such as yourself!

as explained – this is not a plugin issue. this is not a wp.com issue (i use wp.org, which is why used the wp.org forum). this is not a theme issue.

this is a wordpress issue somewhere as wp reader can’t pull thumbnails for vimeo, and emails don’t pull thumbnails either. it works for youtube

i am not sufficiently technical to state what the specific problem is. i can only say what it isn’t having tested this for 2 months and had ongoing conversations with vimeo customer support who have siad it can not be an issue at their end, but must be at the wordpress end

as i said originally, i have no clue – i just know this is an issue that is serious and needs resolving

i’m currently rebuilding our website, with a brand new theme, brand new plugins and have exactly the same issue. so vimeo state it isn’t my account blocking anything, and i know it isn’t a theme or plugin causing a conflict

that only leaves wordpress, somewhere

this is a jetpack/wordpress problem

that is the only way subscribers get inforamtion via email or wordpress reader

nothing else is doing this outside of wordpress and/or jetpack

please stop replying. either move it to the appropriate area if you’re an admin or, if you’re not, please stop replying.

wordpress.com and www.remarpro.com both do this without any extra plugins…

i don’t think you meant to reply here or perhaps replied to the wrong forum entry.

posting to email/wordpress reader are standard things for wordpr4ess. no plugins needed other than jetpack

Same here. Don’t know if this thread is to do with a plugin (I’m in my mobile right now), but I can’t get Vimeo thumbnails to display whether I paste the code, add via wordpress, add via Vimeo app into wordpress post

Its infuriating! I’ve had a support ticket open for 2 months with Vimeo, and can get no help whatsoever despite submitting it twice now.

Has anybody managed fix this? At all?

No difference with public, private, unlisted etc. I’ve tried every variation.

Shows on the website, but not on WP reader or when a post goes via email.

I’ve tried two different themes, and two different blogs.

No change and no joy…

Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks – I mean the wordpress “reader” on the wordpress app. Its the same issue if you look at a post via the notification bell on a computer, from your dashboard

Everything is there, except for the thumbnail for the Vimeo video.

There isn’t a blank space where it should be, there is simply nothing there to indicate that there is a video to watch.

I’ll take a photo of what I mean and post a link when I sit on my computer (in my mobile phone right now)

Many thanks. My good days outnumber the bad days increasingly, which is great!

Since writing the original post I’ve made some progress (literally yesterday evening. so I hadn’t even had chance to update the original question)

Sendinblue support were fantastic, and identified one conflict with Mail Poet: when SiteGround kindly helped me solve the issue around CRON, it seems two settings were inadvertently reset – the ones specifically relating to which pluign sends emails.

So, I can now get emails when someone comments on a post, which is fantastic. And you were right – it was indeed a conflict, because SendinBlue was set up to send emails, Mail Poet wasn’t, but Mail Poet was actually set to send emails…which it couldn’t do – hence the conflict. That is now fully sorted. Happy days!

However, I still can’t get any notification from the WordPress app or via my desktop browser. i can go in and see the comments, but i have to look as I otherwise don’t know (or rely solely on emails). Both the app and browser are set to ‘ping’ me when I get a comment (I double checked while getting screenshots of all my WP.org email settings, for SendinBlue to look at and check).

While getting an email is great, I’d still prefer to sort out the issue of not getting WordPress app notifications. And i don’t like leaving stuff that simply isn’t working as it should, even if there is a work around.

I also didn’t just want to simply reinstall the app – before checking if there was anything else to check on first.
