As for the sorting by author, probably the easiest way is to set up your permalink structure to include authors. Of course, this changes every permalink in your blog.

I think the Modified Cat2Tag plugin will accomplish what you are after. Then you could use something like Intersect to link tags a la del.icio.us or Simpy. Then, for Technorati Tags, you could use Garrick Van Buren’s WP-CaTT.

Another plugin that I hadn’t seen until just now is Ultimate Tag Warrior. It supposedly wraps it all up into one nice package. I haven’t tried this one yet.

The Modified Cat2Tag plugin works with WP-CaTT for me, although it never displays a success message for publishing a post. After a bit, I just check my site and there it is. I haven’t tested Intersect either.

I had a similar problem as well. It worked fine on a fresh install but not on my veteran blog. Anyway, in the end, running upgrade.php solved it for me. I stumbled upon this inadvertently when I was trying to figure out why my site was causing a file download instead of displaying my content. upgrade.php was the answer.

For the Technorati tags, I have been using CaTT plugin. In combination with Modified Cat2Tag plugin, my categories get created when I write my post and then the TT are automatically created from that. It’s a swell system, but it seems to time out on me; it just keeps “processing.” Eventually, I go to the Manage area and the post is there.

OK, it’s fixed now. One of my plugins caused problems too and I deleted it, so, when it showed a problem with this one, I didn’t think that would fix it. I deleted it and now it’s all better.
