I think I might have found the reason. When I checked the error log I got hundreds of log entries like this “[17-Jul-2019 13:01:55 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32768 bytes) in /home/pancelah/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-core-upgrader.php on line 176”
N.B It’s not just on line 176 but many others.

Is there a way of solving this or do I contact my host service provider to sort it out?

I only changed PHP version and manually updated the wordpress version. When I contacted the host service provider they told me to re-upload the home directory with the backup I had made before I did the upgrade but even doing that hasn’t changed things. I’m still getting the errors.

Hi thanks for your reply Steve Stern (@sterndata). I upgraded via cpanel choose php version. WordPress version is 5.2.1.
The reason for upgrading manually via cpanel is because the automatic upgrade wasn’t working and also manual upgrade via admin dashboard when I click the update button wasn’t working too.

I figured out the problem. The culprit is Gutenberg. Seems they don’t see eye to eye with woocommerce while using King Composer page builder. When Gutenberg is activated I can’t edit products on woocommerce. I don’t know who between the two will be willing to accommodate the other.
My solution was to disable Gutenberg after doing some research only why I was being redirected to a rate us page whenever I tried to add or edit products on WooCommerce.
Anyone else facing same problem try to disable Gutenberg and see if you can be able to add or edit products on WooCommerce.
