Thank you, James, for the feedback.

Can you temporarily switch to transitional mode, so I can compare and check your infinite scroll on the non AMP version?

I have selected the transitional mode. Strangely it seems that on the desktop version in that mode the FB like box and page images appear. I tried this before, and it had the same effect as standard mode (not visible). Could you have look as well please?

The page images that do not show in standard mode on the desktop version are as far as I can tell HTML. The FB like box I do not know. Here are the code snippets I inserted as widgets:

    [easy-fb-like-box url=”https://www.facebook.com/ShihTzuFanz” width=”” height=”” faces=”false” hidecover=”false” tabs=”” small_header=”false”hide_cta=”false” “acw=”true” locale=””]

    Cute Shih Tzu Costumes

    Whistle 3 GPS Tracker`

You can of course ensure these features do run on AMP ULRs using the plugins validation tool although they will not be valid AMP URLS and they won’t be eligable to be served from AMP Cache. Custom JavaScript is not an AMP plugin limitation, it’s a core framework principle.

I am trying to understand your explanation, but to be honest my technical java knowledge is limited. I have made a screenshot of the active plugins. Maybe you recognize them and know if they should run with AMP?

Dear James, thank you for responding.

With the Neve infinite scroll feature JavaScript based this is expected to not work by default, with custom JavaScript restricted in AMP to components such as amp-script. This isn’t a plugin limitation, it’s a requirement for fully valid AMP URLs.

My understanding is that with the AMP plugin, the desktop version remains unchanged. After enabling the AMP plugin on my site, the infinite scroll disappears from the desktop version. Is that what is expected to happen? It does not make sense to me.

Have you tried reaching out to the theme developer and enquiring about AMP support going forward using amp-next-page?

Unfortunately, no support is given with their free version of the theme, which is what I am currently using.

This plugin makes use of custom JavaScript and therefore is not AMP compatible. Have you performed a search for any AMP compatible alternatives. Alternatively are you using Neve Pro, if so have you enabled the themes Scroll-to-top feature?

Same here as with the infinite scroll. The scroll to top disappears from the desktop version once I enable the AMP plugin. Why is that? Shouldn’t AMP affect only the mobile version? Or do I misinterpret that?
Also, if I would be able to find an AMP compatible plugin, would that then also work on the desktop version of the site?

Have you tried using any of the AMP compatible social media sharing and button icons? We have confirmed fully compatible plugins listed on the plugin ecosystem page. There may be additional plugins that have the same Facebook like button that is fully AMP compatible.

I am not referring to a button or icon, but the box that shows a Facebook snippet of the page. Please have a look at these 2 screenshots of the desktop version of the site.

First without the AMP plugin (plugin disabled):

Second with the AMP plugin enabled:

Do you have an example of one of the URLs with this behaviour so I can take a look? From the URLs I checked I don’t encounter the same.

Please see the 2 screenshots I shared above. These are from the homepage.

Thank you for looking into this.

    For instance this post:

is 7 days old, and the plugin is set to 3 days.

    Thank you.

“I can figure out how to make my plugin work on single posts on your theme if you’d like.” –> Okay. Please let me know what you need to know and how I can provide it to you.

    Hi Ben,

“Are you saying that the plugin is not currently working?” –> Well yes, that is basically what I am saying.

But also, the theme I use displays the date at the homepage, the single post, related posts, etc. So in multiple places. And what I understand from the plugin description is that the plugin only targets the single posts. Correct?

Your plugin does not remove the date in the post itself with the theme I use. And obviously not at the other areas, as that is not what it is programmed to do.

So my thought is to skim the code pages of the theme and where ever I find a “post date” code snippet, to replace that with another code snippet (related to the plugin) that either posts the date, or not, dependent on the #days as defined in the plugin.

Does that make sense? If there is a better or easier way of accomplishing that, I don’t mind hearing that.
