I have the Updraft Plus Version 1.16.53 and am trying a fresh back up now but it still seems to be permanently stuck around the quarter mark of the loading bar. I’ll give it more time though.

Hi Dan, The only performance/optimization plugins I’m using are the ones below and this is what happened when I deactivated them:

Busted! – no change, I cannot see the image compare block, only the slider arrows
Hummingbird – no change, I cannot see the image compare block, only the slider arrows
Jetpack – image compare block appeares as 2 individual static images
Smush – image compare block comes back as it should

Hi, I’m having the same problem where I’m backing up my site with Updraft Plus to Google Drive and the uploading never ends.
I went into expert settings and changed the ‘Split Backups Every’ to 25MB as you advised.
Then I asked my Host about the server resources and they couldn’t help… All I know is what I have now is:

I/O (KB/sec) = 1000
Memory/RAM (MB) = 512
Files (inodes) = 250,000
Disk space = 30GB

Does this mean anything?? I have no idea…

Thats strange. I just tested it again and with Smush activated, I couldn’t see the Image Compare block. Not sure how to send you a screen shot via this messaging!
Then I deactivated Smush and it appeared.

Regarding my Smush settings, I don’t think I’ve done much to the default settings. What sort of settings should I look at?

So full width images like the image of the rucksack at the top of my blog post can be 1024pxl but the ones I have in sets of 2 columns below it should be 360?

I don’t know how to send a screen shot via this messaging but the Smush plugin advice shows on the right side of the screen and tells me that this image should be 260 or 360.

For the home page https://beingnaomi.net/ all of the images are also highlighted so I reduced the ‘Feature Image’ of the blog post to something like 2-300, re-added them to the media library and uploaded them but then the images all appeared blurry on the home page…I put it back for now.

I checked Google Page Speed and as well as somem of my blog post images, it’s showing a lot of images from my instagram feed. But I dont think I can change that size in the sidebar?

I went to Template Editor, played around with the image sizes for the recipe ‘Image’ block and was able to adjust the text.

@alanfuller Thank you Alan. This is a little beyond my skills set! But I have read up on server logs and will try and access it. I’ll also talk to my hosting company to see if they can help.

I found the problem!
Under MC4WP – Form – Form Code, the merge tag for ‘Name’ was not matching with the tag on Mailchimp. Such an embarrassing and obvious mistake and I dont know how it happened because I always knew they had to match!

I read through the guide and can see this text in the Dubug Log:

So from this, I get that my Merge Fields are invalid. Having checked on MailChimp though, I just have the First Name with the tag ‘FNAME’, Email address with the tag ‘EMAIL’ Both are ‘required’ but nothing in the default merge tag value column. I cant seem to send you images via this messaging. I hope it makes sense.
