Hi Gabeyoung. If I do upgrade, how likely or unlikely am I to loose any of what was on my site..? Not sure how it works and concerned whether anything would get lost. Is an upgrade usually trouble free..? Thanks…

I am aware of 2.9.1 but not sure how well it is working at this point since its new… I read some people are uninstalling it and downgrading to other versions… just curious which version is safest bet at this time…

so if tahoma is available on my computer, that is probably what my theme is using? Because I see 3 fonts listed but I have no idea which one is the one I can use. Would you know how to change it…?

I found a line that says:
    “font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif”

How do I know which one is currently being used and how do I change it…?

(I am unable to identify the font that is currently available…)

    Hi alchymyth. Thanks for responding.

Where specifically do I click on my start page (in admin) to get to style.css?

Yes… trying to replace an image that is part of the theme… I received alot of help all of a sudden… so I will be looking into all of it… I’ll be back ??

He probably tweaked the atahualpa theme that I have. Maybe thats why he needed the FTP info. Now Im on my own and wondering if I also need to use the FTP path to get stuff done. Hmmm… so much to figure out for a newbie like me. ??

Hi Chris. Yes, I do have a theme installed. I tried a few different ways to upload my image, it just wont appear as more than a box/frame with a red X in it. I tried inserting it to the post and also adding it to the library: no difference. I know Im doing something wrong, just not sure what it is.

Hi Claytonjames. My site is not of relevance because the problem Im having does not show on the site. It just wouldnt make a difference. I have not made any actual changes to the site. I am still on the admin page clicking around to see what everything does. I tried to replace a picture and thats when I ran into my first problem (many more to come I know). You have some very interesting pointers in your post that I am going to look into right now.
I did not try in firefox yet. Perhaps I should try that right away.

“Is the upload path to your wp-content directory in your dashboard correct?”. This sounds very interesting, unfortunately I have no clue how to make sure my upload path is correct.

I am a true beginner to WP, determined to learn it, hence all the “newbie” questions.

    Thanks for the help.

Ps. The designer was a shemale! No… just kidding… ?? I’ve worked with different people…

    Hi Hbb.

    Thank you for responding.

Im going to try to be more detailed.

I hired someone to do WP customization for me. Now I just wanted to replace a few pictures. I have no idea what method he used to upload the pictures, but I did give him my FTP information.

I log in to the admin and attempt to edit one of my pages. I try to add an image. I upload the image from my desktop. The image is a jpeg. And this image shows in all my other programs so there is nothing wrong with my image. Once upload is complete the image appears as a Box/frame with a Red X in the corner no matter what I do. I never see the actual image. The designer was able to upload images and I can see them in my library, but when I try it doesnt work. I read somewhere I have to use a FTP program to upload images to WP, is this true? I am not a programmer so all this is new to me. Sorry, some of the lingo is also new to me. Do I have to use a specific method to upload images? Im just trying to figure out what Im doing wrong. Thanks again.
