That is what I am saying: with QC block enabled, it seems that the plugin still blocks by itself – I no longer see the QC block page, just the plugin’s. I have cleared All Cache, yet still…
It is fine by me, for the purpose I am using it. Maybe some other cache is involved here… I just tried to understand. I will experiment more.
Thank you!
It looks like it works, regardless if the quic.cloud is configured to block or not. Is this okay to work like this, even with the blockage set at cdn level?
The problem with Quic CDN is that they just block countries, don’t do redirects or other granular manipulation based on IP – very rudimentary. You can’t even customize the blocking message.
I wonder how those other cache plugins are doing it.
So there is no way to make this more user friendly and allow the IP Location Block plugin work as it is suppose to?
I might be mistaken but I think the deferring refers to the method serving the cached page AFTER the IP Location Block gets a chance of doing what it is supposed to do. If the cached page is served right away how is this plugin even supposed to work?
Hmm… for other elements I don’t have the option to selectively change the ID which is generated to be the same as the element’s css class name. But for the one that you can see down the page, I can change the ID, which I did. The first css class that looks like randomly named, is the one I targeted previously. But now I target the ID. So for this element, the css name and the ID are different.
Hi! Thank you for replying.
As I wrote, targeting the slider’s unique css class or ID of the div container doesn’t do anything most of the time, but sometime, this works.
Currently, I am targeting the ID of the div, which is the most external container of the slider and is provided by the slider setup for this very purpose, to manipulate/format its content.
The question is why sometime it works but then a simple page refresh/reload eliminates the css inserted by complianz on the same container?
I’ve been toying with this trying to add the blocking functionality using the method of targeted css class on the element that triggers the modal loading of the video in an iframe (which is and a-tag with href to youtube video). I had some success, although this breaks some visual styling in the page.
However, it seems that the iframe calling the youtube video is loaded AFTER the link is clicked, and although cookies were previously denied and youtube integration is active, the video plays just fine – no container Accept button either. I also tried to target the iframe css class directly, but it is not working (this way).I wonder if you have a suggestion on this modal loading of the youtube videos, as it is the general way of loading and displaying them on the website.
Thank you.
I embedded the video with the text editor and indeed, that is blocked by Decline. It can be tested.
I am getting back to this and I hope for your support.
I managed to identify and clean previous analytics hard coded in the page and now only the Site Kit is running GA4. For now, I leave LightSpeed out and non functional.
I installed Complianz again and configured with integration services for, among others, YouTube (embedded in page or loaded modal in an iframe) and Instagram feed.
The new behavior is that Decline does not prevent the videos or instagram feed from loading. So, either Accepting or Declining, these integrations are always functional, and I think this is not served by the purpose of the banner.
I wonder if you could give me any hints on how to control at least these 3rd party cookies.
Thank you for your time and support.
Hmm… I don’t think I have the knowledge to go that deep into the setup and administration at code level… I mostly use the plugins from what interfaces they have and manage content at embedded text editor level.
What I noticed while deactivating and reactivating all plugins is that analytics and tagmanager scripts remain in the page source no matter what… I cannot figure out how they survive there if Site Kit is erased and no other plugin or theme inserts the code.
I am afraid I am stuck with a bug now.
Thank you for your prompt responses and support. I like complianz and I wish I could make it work and purchase the site license.
I was checking with the latest Edge browser, and it works there. But indeed it doesn’t work in Chrome. I am puzzled… I also deactivated Site Kit, but the same happens…
I deactivated complianz and cleared all lightspeed cache. The video runs ok in that iframe. I will leave it deactivated, if you want to check on your side.
The analytics is handled entirely by Google Site Kit plugin, with GA4 activated.
As a side note, even with the YouTube integration service turned ON, the video down the page loads and plays, like you noticed, regardless of Accept/Deny option. So that’s another problem.
But isn’t the complianz which prevents the video from loading when Accept is pressed? And why it is still interferes if the Youtube service is (momentarily) switch off in complianz?
Most importantly, can this be solved for the complianz to behave or, at least ignore what it can’t control properly?
