Thanks for that, Sajid. I don’t mind a nag message, it was just the admin-wide display of it which was odd.
Anyway, I’ve updated it, reactivated it and tinkered with the padding to get it slotted in between the right sidebar and the vertical scrollbar.
It seems strange that the way it works on mine is that the “Previous post” button links to the next (newer) post, and the “Next post” button links to the previous (older) post. It makes no chronological sense on a blog which has the latest/newest post at the top.

That’s brilliant, Jeremy, thank you!
Thank you – your code snippet works fine to remove posts without images.
You could use that same filter again, and return a random list of posts instead of the popular posts.
Sorry but can you tell me how, please? My grey-matter isn’t firing on all neurons like it used to.

In reply to: Visual Editor is stripping codeThanks for the advice, Kevin. Glad you’ve found something that works for you.
For myself, I like the simplicity of just pasting in the two required image URLs when setting up a mouseover, as per my screenshot at https://beardedgit.com/wp-content/uploads/2014%20Misc/oldtinymce.jpg

In reply to: Visual Editor is stripping codeFWIW, I had my host restore a full backup (dated 10th April), now I’m back on WP 3.8.3 and everything is usable again.
I’ll mark this topic as “resolved” because, although issues remain concerning the version of TinyMCE bundled with WP 3.9, I’m fine with my workaround.

In reply to: [Advanced Editor Tools] Stop removing BR not working with WP 3.5?Glad you’re sorted, PlutonB.
I know it makes no difference to you, as Raw HTML made no difference, but it’s worth pointing out for others that it does content-wrapping without user intervention if it’s set to “on by default”, so users don’t need HTML knowledge.
I’m going to give Preserved HTML Editor Markup a try on my installation to see if it’s better for me. Thanks for the heads-up!

In reply to: Bug: Problem editing image & link URLs in WP3.5Ahah!
Problem found (but not solved)…
It seems to be a plugin incompatibility issue – it’s the “TinyMCE Advanced” buttons that are playing up. I’ll contact the plugin’s author.
Cheers anyway.

In reply to: Hiding admin bar in WordPress 3.3Probably a dumb question, but…
if hiding it is so impossible in the back-end, why is it invisible when in “add new post” with “fullscreen” on?

In reply to: What Should 2011 Hold for WordPress?A few things that I’d like to see:
1: Reinstatement of the Link Category Hierarchy thing;
2: An Incoming Links dashboard widget that actually works properly;
3: Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All.I’d imagine that item 1 would be a doddle whereas items 2 and 3 might be equally difficult.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Hide "cleared by Akismet"?Cheers for that, tellyworth, 2.5.1 does indeed resolve my “Recent Comments” issues. I am a happy bunny once again ??
I still reckon that if 2.5.0 was “tested very well” as you claim, and passed that testing, there must be something awry with the test data, the test method or both for there to have been such a range of issues to resolve after release. Probably a subject for a different thread, though.
