    I finally got it to work! I appreciate all of the help. One more question though.

    GoDaddy lets me customize everything I am wanting to customize including adding plugins. If I continue to use GoDaddy to design my site then I will not have to install anything else right?

    Thanks for the replies.

    On my .com site it shows the following for the domains:

    My mapped domain which I purchased through GoDaddy – This is set as primary
    My wordpress.com domain name

    Do I need to delete my mapped domain and then use the wordpress.com domain to edit my dns settings?
