When you’re inserting a PDF link into a page, pay attention to the ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS before you insert into a page. If the display is linking to the attachment page, then you’ll get what you’re describing. If you link to the media file instead, clicking that link will open up the PDF directly.

All galleries disappeared with update to 2.0. Downgrading to 1.9 brings the galleries back, but this is clearly a big problem!

Follow-up: When I went back to update other plugins, the error went away and I got this message:

In the dashboard:
Settings>Reading you can specify this page to be your Posts page and the posts will show here.

By default it’s usually the latest full post followed by the next one. To show just the excerpts, that either has to be a setting that your particular theme has already built in, or you will need to edit the template file in your theme that handles the posts. Often that’s index.php, but the actual content part that needs to change from the_content to the_excerpt may be buried in a template part.

In Settings>General on your dashboard, are both the Site url and the WordPress Url set to https:// ?

In Appearance>Menus are all the links pages or posts that you selected, or do you have any Custom links in there? Check the custom links to make sure they are https:// as well.

I’m not familiar with this plugin and how it works, you should probably re-submit this question on this plugins forum.

If it just goes through all the links and adds Google, you might be able to manually edit that link and just remove the rel=”nofollow” in the link. But I have no idea if this plugin will overwrite that…

You may have an issue with the database or the install itself. Without access and seeing what you’re dealing with, it’s impossible to tell.

Have you done the basic troubleshooting of turning off all the plugins and changing the theme to a basic 2016? You may find that one of these things is causing a conflict. Someone may come in and correct me on this, but I don’t think you can do what you describe. Taxonomies are associated with Posts or Custom Post types, you can select or de-select terms from that taxonomy on any given post, but to my knowledge there are no Publish options that you can associate with the terms, just the post.

I notice that your file name has an apostrophe. That may be throwing an error, affecting the search. Try changing the file name.
