In reply to: [All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall] Locked out of admin pageOK — I did the above steps, got to my admin page, and copied the new admin URL with the slug.
Turns out, it was a URL I had already tried and gotten an “Oops” error message in response.
I changed the aiowps plugin folder name back to the original, logged out of WordPress, then went to the admin URL that the aiowps plugin told me to use.
And I get the “Oops” message all over again. Are there any limitations on the slug that I should know about? I’m using 9 lowercase letters and a numeral at the end.

In reply to: [All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall] Locked out of admin pageThank you. Just so I’m clear, when I rename the folder and log in to “wp-login.php,” will I then be able to see in the plugin what the correct URL with the slug is supposed to be?
I want to make sure that when I revert the folder name to the original, I don’t just lock myself out again.

In reply to: [All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall] Locked out of admin pageThank you for the quick reply.
Yes, I did enable that. And I can’t get to .htaccess, as I haven’t created that and can’t get to my login page to do so.
Can you please tell me the plugin’s default placement for the slug I created?
Hi, Christopher,
Thanks for the response. It turned out that the new Akismet key was coincidental. The issue turned out to be a Yahoo database issue. It’s been fixed, and all is well (except for a few lost comments following a “corrupted entry”).
Marking as resolved…

In reply to: Comments vanished from blog and from dashboardYou were right on the money, Tara — it was a Yahoo database issue. It’s been fixed, and all is well (except for a few lost comments following a “corrupted entry”). Thanks for your encouragement and support.

In reply to: Comments vanished from blog and from dashboardHi, Tara — thank you. And yes, I have been in touch with Yahoo, but so far, I’m hearing how they don’t support WordPress. I’m trying to get them to see this as a database issue rather than a WordPress issue. Any key words or terms to drop with Yahoo customer service would be much appreciated.
In the meantime, do any other likely explanations come to mind?

In reply to: Switching directories, preserving permalinksThanks, Rob.
The message doesn’t keep me from changing WordPress Address or Blog Address.
I do have the Customizable Permalinks plugin activated, and here’s what I used for the customized permalink when I imported from Blogger:
/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html
Once I’m publishing from https://mydomain.info/blog, that will match how my permalinks looked when published from Blogger.
So, you’re thinking that if I rename the WordPress directory from /blog1/ to /blog/ and change those WordPress and Blog addresses, I’ll be in good shape?
