Hi Newton, thanks a million for that, i looked at taxonomy but htought it was a little complex… im checked out the tutorial your posted and that looks good..much simpler, it will have tio be combined with some drop menu i think but i believe you have put me on the right track so thanks very much

Super thank you agelonwl & marcus for your replies, i used the event Attributes to solve the problem and plan on test running over the next week, if this gives problems i will try the plugin marcus suggests… cheers

yes.. sorry i will try to explain. on my site i wish to allow everyone to create a login and post in my forum but those who are of a higher rank will also be able to add gigs and events, on the event submission form there is all info about the event and its location but im guessing it will be the bands who are playing at these venues who will use my use site and therefore the band that uploads the gig to the events manager…so i believe they will expect an input box to add the name of the artist playing… eg. themselves
i dont see this anywhere on the form so i would like to add it, i also thought of maybe a checkbox with ” see performing artists listed below in details” .or something simular for festival events where there are several artists playing. this list would be fine in the details box so the checkbox just tells people that the artist box is blank and this is because they are listed in the details box below.

the second bit is just an idea its the artist name that is the main problem!
any help would be nice thankyou
