My problems are “resolved” by disabling the optimized script loader, through editing wp-config.php as above.
As far as I can tell, the only side effect is the additional network overhead while using the admin panels. The performance is not noticeably slower on this particular server and network, so I’ll just live with it. Ymmv.

@gusrounick If you have access to the folders in which WordPress is installed, then look for the file /wp-includes/css/editor-buttons.css

    1. Edit the file ‘editor-buttons.css’
    2. look for the text “.js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area{color:white;}”
    3. change the stuff inside the curly braces from “color:white” to “color:black”

I can’t help with firefox not working; firefox was only mentioned as just one possible route to figuring out which file to edit. But now ya know the file name, so commence hacking. ??
My situation was on a self-hosted bog-standard vanilla WordPress 3.3.1 clean installation for a new domain name.
For me, things are working better since I added the line “define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’,false);” to the main WordPress configuration file (wp-config). But this is a band-aid that masks problems in loading scripts, not a real or long-term fix.
    Good luck, Barry

My fresh download was all manual. I downloaded the Zip file, uncompressed, and copied the whole bundle over my existing folders. Then I used a folder comparison tool (Beyond Compare) to ensure successful copying.

This is so weird. But things are working better since I added the “define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’,false);” to wp-config. And it’s a band-aid not a fix. Still testing.

I think I just fixed the same problem in my WordPress 3.3.1 installation.
    I edited CSS in /wp-includes/css/editor-buttons.css.
    From: .js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area{color:white;}
    To: .js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area{color:black; /* bwh */}

This problem has been a little strange in the sense it is inconsistent. The visual page editor worked fine to create several pages, and then I came back a few days later and text was invisible (white on white). I deleted all my plugins, restored the original WP 3.3 files, and used the default theme, all without success. Then, thanks to Firefox extensions I found a fixable CSS control, but since the original CSS file never changed, I think I’m just masking another ugly problem elsewhere.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone else, too. ~Barry~

    Anyone find a solution?
I have the same problem. I have just installed WP 3.3.1 and have not activated any plug-ins yet. I’m using the Twenty Eleven 1.3 theme.
Is the MySQL version important? I have PHP v5.3.8 and MySQL v5.5.16.
    Thanks, Barry

Terrific photography throughout, it really makes the site. Plus you have a photo gallery page that works really well. What plugin is that, by the way???

The gray-on-gray text body copy is too low contrast for me. The color combination works great on the nav bar (crisp colors on mouse-over) and fine on headings (a larger font), but it’s very difficult to read on the smaller font.

The only change I suggest is a whiter text on small fonts. Otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing!

Never trust your own computer’s load time if it has a local connection to your server.

For me, page load time for me is 2.64 sec to onload event, and I have a 24 mpbs connection on the west coast. It might be a little slow but I sure didn’t have a noticeable delay.

Image bg1.jpg loaded in 1.25 sec for 397kb. It downloaded in parallel with bg4.jpg and bg10.jpg. Maybe the first big background image will load faster if you can delay the beginning of the second background image load.

    Great looking website!

San Antonio Painters — overall looks good. One seemingly minor change would make a dramatic improvement to professionalism: review where every line breaks and adjust for best readability. Also make sure the last line of every text block has more than one word; fix all orphaned words. Arrange lines if possible for a stairstep effect, where each line is generally a little wider than the one above it.

A professional copy editor would be excellent for this task and would offer more suggestions along these lines, while making things shorter and more concise for maximum effectiveness.

    Keep at it, good luck!

Clean layout, easy to read, I like the line spacing and fonts.

Too much on the home page, most people won’t scroll down. Start simplifying by tossing out most of the black-background footer, make it one line of text at most; Reducing the footer to the existing last line (copyright) would be perfect. Eg. if someone wants to contact the firm they’ll click “Contact” instead of scrolling. If they want to navigate the site you already provided several ways of getting around.

On “News” it feels like the images are too big; they seem to crowd and overpower the text. However, using monochrome imagery is a nice touch, they are an excellent complement to the rest of the theme.

Do you really need the tag cloud on News? It’s full of depressing phrases.

Love the sitemap, wish more websites did that.

    Good work! Barry

    v0.9.1 looks good now, thanks!!!

fyi, I just installed version 0.9.0 on a new WordPress 3.2 on a Windows server and it’s working fine for me. Still, I don’t see 0.9.1 available on www.remarpro.com quite yet, I hope it magickally appears soon as I’d like to install it just to have the latest.

Hi, I love the iNove theme but I’m having a similar problem with the drop down menus. When I hover over the top parent page, the popup list almost complete covers the parent page name, making it very difficult to click on the parent.

    Did this get solved?

My site is in English: w7bi.electromagneticsoftware.com

    Thanks in advance! Barry
