    This is getting tedious and needlessly so. I am a writer and not a codewriter. I really don’t have the time to spend on playing with codes; especially since it’s been over a decade since I learned basic CSS.

    I just need a few things done. I’ve already got the child template up on my end. I still love the Canyon theme. I just need for the the theme to use the fronts from TypeKit. It’s supposed to be Adobe San Pro.. This is the global font and Georgia for secondary. I’d like the link color to be more readale and text size in the sidebar to be a little bigger.

    It
    s would be a nice add, if the sidebar was a different color so as to offset thing.

    Isn’t there a plugin for those who DON”T want to spend time coding?

    Here is what I have for the child’s style.css file:

    /*
    Theme Name: Canyon Child
    Theme URI: https://inspiration-point.org/
    Description: Child theme for the Canyon theme
    Author: Your name here
    Author URI: https://example.com/about/
    Template: canyon
    */
    @import url(“../canyon/style.css”);

    a, a:visited {
    color: #6551B5;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    a:hover, a:focus {
    color: #BBB1E0;
    }

    I am using the links as a test. I do want to change the initial state to something more identifiable. Would the code that TypeKit provided go in here? It would make it more manageable.

    As I’m using Firefox, I got my hands on CSS Viewer. I can see why you said to get it. Good tool!

    Just created the canyon-child folder in the appropriate folder. I’ve also read the information on child template. I can better understand the excitement. ?? It was helpful to read the underlying CSS; so I can refresh my memory.

    Just need to create the needed style.css file and fill it with the right data.

    I just went over to the page that you mentioned. It’s pretty clear. ?? My host has a file management tool.

    So, I am reading the code for the actual theme. WordPress was just organizing the info via links.

    Though it’s been a while, I am comfortable with CSS. In fact, I am reading the underlying CSS code within my copy of WordPress. It’s found in the Editor section that’s part of the Appearance theme.

    As for Child Template, I think I see what you mean. There is a list of templates located on the right hand side of the editor. I’m reading the Sidebar now.

    In that case, I’ll do a copy of what’s written and delete. ??

    As it is, I found what appears to be a good font. Now, it’s time to tweak some of the CSS setings for the Canyon theme. I’m going to start a new thread as this one will get ignored here. Don’t blame ’em though.

    No wonder. I thought this forum is good for those having trouble with a plugin. Oh well. I discovered an old favorite of mine. ?? It’s the TypeKit site.

    Why am I having a hard time getting help? Is something needed? I did include my web site. I really do need help.

    I have yet to find examples of what others are doing. However, I am not sitting still and being idle. ??

    Here’s the tweaks that I’m wanting to see for my blog site. I am using TwentyEleven theme. I’ve also the Fonts plugins.

    1. I’d like to use a somewhat larger size font and ones that’s a little heavier. It may be a larger size will resolve this. I’m seeking to increase the ease of reading.

    I need to font change to be global. I like’s what’s in the sidebar, though. Why not the content part??

    2. The sidebar: Since there is only 1 iteration then how about changing the color of the background? I definitely want the search box to be easier to find and the subscription widget.

    Is there a widget for this?

    What about the Add Share stuff? What’s best? The Rss Link??

    Hope this helps.

    I went back to TwentyEleven.

    How is this theme with mobile? I notice that when viewing the actual post; the sidebar is gone. ?? Just concern about making things easy for my readers.

    Now, how can I spruce up Inspiration Point so it looks a lot more professional and less like a personal blog? How’s the link color? Readability? Sidebar organization? Subscription Message clear? Is the Rss link of value?

    Thanks for the input. Time for sleep. ??

    A responsive site?

    I can agree about the need for a theme that shows nicely in mobile devices. I’ve friends who read more on their smartphone than on a PC or Mac. How’s TwentyEleven?

    My personal wishlist is this. The sidebar to be a little thinner and perhaps a space between. A different shading would be an acceptable choice. I agree that it’s a little much, now. Yes, I am planning on using the image for a header. Have GIMP. ??

    Does this Help?

    I used Gimp to get the hexadecimal code and the background looks nicer.

    I think I got the right size fonts for the content. I just did a check. One post has a good size of 16 but another one has a smaller size. The title for the Recent Post is good.

    As for the size, I don’t have the ability to resize it. I was looking for a theme that would work with the header and have a readable font face. I’m not totally stuck.

    I don’t have much; so I’m hunting for a good solid free one. I’ve been told that 2011 is too much the default blog theme. I’m looking to do a nice magazine that has encouraging stories. Yes, I do incorporate teachings and sometimes try to be subtle. ??

    Any other alternative?

    Hi esmi,

    I went to the cpanel for Blue Host. Yes, I’ve access to Awestats and Webalizer. Just had to enable them. I’m familiar with the earlier version. They should produce better details from 10 years ago.

    Thank for reminding me. I’ll have to wait a bit.

    OFF Topic:

    Theme Diva?? I just happen to be tweaking my blog’s current theme and give it a more professional look. Could you please look at it? I am concern about the background color coordinating nicely with the picture. Readability. I do have a font plugin. And placement of the widgets on the right side.

    In the near future, I am going to take advantage of AdSense and affilliate programs. I could use the inputs Thanks.
