In reply to: Theme shopping: Any ideas? As I’m considering why I’m having trouble getting an answer; it occurs to me that my site is not clear in terms of what it is.
I’m only using magazine because I don’t know what it should be called. Is there a better term to describe it? If so then please tell me. It serves no purpose when I’m not using the right term. Yet you should get an idea of what I’m doing via what’s already there.
Does this help??

In reply to: Twenty Eleven Adding AdSense??Ok. I just followed your instruction and it appears to work. I have adblock on firefox, So, I jumped over to IE and it work. I’d like to move the ad over some so it looks centered over the main section.
I’ll play with it, later.
My next step will be to enroll in some appropriate affilliate programs. As I’m planning to do reviews, I’ll seek to place them, there?? Still, thanks for the help

In reply to: Twenty Eleven Adding AdSense??I am doing a little detective work and I found a file called “header.php” this file deals with the main header image and the menu system.
Should I copy this over to the TwentyEleven child them and create a new header.php file and place the generated script there? It’ll likely be at the end and just before the <div id=main> section.

In reply to: Twenty Eleven Adding AdSense??I’d like to place it right under the menubar. This way visitors will see it, once and that’s it. The widgets are on the right hand side. The ad style is leaderboard.

In reply to: Twenty Eleven Adding AdSense??I already have a child theme that’s linked to the main one. ??
Am I right in thinking I should create a sidebar.php file and place the script there??

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsOkay. Here is the verdict.
PIN THIS!
Good tutorial on how to do a child template; the easy way. No problem with my site being used as a template or it.
Now, I got the widget a nice shade of gray or is it blueish gray. I’m not bothering with the RSS Link. The others definitely needed it.
Are there any others that should be done?

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsThat would be a cool plugin! Let the user change the color of the background of a widget to fit their needs.
Here is the run down:
Typekit is taking care of the font family. I was looking for readable fonts across browsers. Plus, they needed to be easy on the eyes. I think the current one does it.
Switching back to TwentyEleven and tweaking the link color took care of some minor problems. Now the color goes with the theme and header. Thanks Gimp ??
The TwentyEleven extension seem to take care of the missing sidebar. As how it displays on a mobile phone. The text appears nice. It’s menu bar that looks funny. They look like there’s two columns.
Other than and the wishful thinking; I am fine. I’ll have to wait and get some money and buy a good premium theme. ??
Are there any other little things that I need to do?

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsHi Andrew,
I tried just that and it’s not working. I did some digging and found a useful extension for TwentyEleven. It took care of one problem – the missing sidebar. The only problem is, the way it shows up in a smartphone.
Is there a plugin that changes the background color of a widget? What can I do for the way TwentyEleven appears in a mobile device?
As far as Canyon, it is proving to be a bigger hassle then I have time for. When I’ve some money, I’ll go the pay route. At least, I can now appreciate what the pros go through. ?? Yet, I’m no where close to what they have to deal with.

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsThe experiment is working. ?? The link color has changed. ?? What happened? I had to redo the theme setup.
I notice in the underlying cod that the default fonts are used. They’d be fine; if not for the size. Now, I can build on what I have.
When I write, my preferred font size is 12. What’s is that in px?

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsJust activated Canyon Child. It practically overrode what I had. The framework is the same, though.

In reply to: Canyon Theme: Need help in tweaking the CSS settingsHi Andrew,
Since font is the bulk of my problem I’ll have to look that plugin. What about the text in the sidebar? I thought the editor only dealt with what I’m writing? Can it do a global change? That’s what I’m wanting.
