Thank you – I couldn’t get the access but added myself as an administrator with the name I want … next I’ll delete the old administrator and that should do it, I hope. (Unless you think there’s a problem with that?)

I just upgraded to the new WordPress and my comments are closed now, too. I hate going back thru all of them individually to open them. Oh, and my settings say I want all comments opened all the time. Something has changed with the update – some default — and I have checked both my theme settings and the WordPress settings. I am at https://www.bfmcmillen.com

I had viewed the codex but know nothing about installing databases and I am using what Ipower has given me. They won’t support WordPress other than allowing me to install it. So, as for my question, the answer appears, at least for me, to be no.

Try this:

Go to the wp-admin and under settings, general:

make consistent the wordpress address (URL) and the Blog address (URL) in relationship to the www:

E.G. either

wp url: https://smith.com/wp/
blog address url: https://smith.com

OR

wp url https://www.smith.com/wp
blog address url: https://www.smith.com
