In reply to: Site hierarchy categories vs pagesThanks for the permalinks link!
That definitely helps. So Then the question I have is, is there such thing as too many categories?
I am trying to get the exact same structure of this site: https://theculturetrip.com/
To me it seems they have this category hierarchy:
-Continent
——-Country
————–City
-Food and Drink
-See and Do
-Art
-Literature
-etc.If you click on a continent you will land on a page with posts in that continent sorted by the categories above (food and drink, art, literature, see and do).
Then if you click on a country you land on a page with posts in that country sorted by the same categories above (food and drink, art, literature, see and do).
Then if you click on a city you will land on a page with posts in that city sorted again… by the same categories above (food and drink, art, literature, see and do).
If you instead of clicking on a city you click on a category such as food and drink, you will be taken to a page where all the food and drink posts for that city appear (BUT NOT ALL FOOD AND DRINK POSTS IN GENERAL).
So my question is, is the category hierarchy they used as I described above? Or is it like this:
-Continent
-Food and Drink for this Continent
-See and Do for this Continent
-Art for this Continent
-Literature for this Continent
-etc.
——-Country
——-Food and Drink for this Country
——-Art for this Country
——-Literature for this Country
——-etc. for this Country
————City
————Food and Drink for this Country
————See and Do for this Country
————Art for this Country
————Literature for this Country
————etc. for this CountryThis would lead to hundreds if not thousands of categories due to all the cities and countries this would need to be created for.
Can somebody help with a solution here?
Thanks!

In reply to: Unwanted Image CompressionHmm thanks. But is there anywhere I can see what exactly wordpress is doing with my pictures by default?

In reply to: Activated Plugin – Now Theme Layout Messed UpStrangely enough overnight the site returned to the way it was before. So I guess this must’ve been some sort of cache that reset itself overnight..

In reply to: Activated Plugin – Now Theme Layout Messed UpI dont have any cache plugins activated. I cleared browsing cache but no luck.
I am not sure what the op or content network caches are. Where can I access this?
As for my host, Bluehost is currently down, so I can’t access anything unfortunately. But I will try this as soon as it is up.
If this cache clearing does not work, are there some other possible explanations?
Thanks!!

In reply to: From where could new theme be getting old commands?Where are the <div> Tags generated? Is this through CSS as well? I realized that The reason the sidebar is missing is because the parent <div> of the content section closes before the sidebar. When I placed the </div> after the sidebar in inspector it appeared how it should.
Would this be something I could solve in the style.css page?
I am still confused though why when I reset wordpress and install the theme this error doesn’t occur, but when I install and activate the theme with my content on there, this error occurs.

In reply to: From where could new theme be getting old commands? Thanks for the reply.
Yeah I am working on it. I deleted the Jquery Plugin from my old theme. and the drop shadow command no longer is coming in. But there are still tons of other errors, such as sidebar not showing up because of random <div> tags appearing from old themes.
Unfortunately the support with my developer was not of any help. They sent a line of CSS code that was entirely irrelevant, and then when I gave them my wpadmin password, they deleted the site, which was a pain to recover… So I would like to avoid dealing with them again.
I am just wondering if there is any common issue or reason, why the site might be calling functions from unrelated nonactive themes. And if there is any way that this could be blocked.

In reply to: From where could new theme be getting old commands?Just another update. I noticed that the drop shadow i was talking about, is actually a CSS style from a JQuery plugin from my old theme… But since the old theme is not activated, could you explain to me why my site is still running scripts from the old theme?

In reply to: From where could new theme be getting old commands? No it’s pretty messed up in twentyfourteen too. Deactivating plugins doesn’t change anything.

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Bottom vs Top?Hi Mark!
Thanks so much for the response! I didn’t receive a notification so I just now saw this.
Well all in all what I am really hoping to get is the 4th example here under “Scrollable Sticky Element”: https://leafo.net/sticky-kit/
I actually tried that Jquery plugin on that link but it doesn’t work at all.
Would it be a lot of customization to change it to stick on the bottom?
Thanks!

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Bottom vs Top?Also, I am wondering. I have a widget in the middle of my sidebar that I made sticky. But when that is sticky it covers up the rest of the widgets as I scroll down. Is it possible to make it so that this widget will stick to the top only after a certain amount of pixels below it, or even better after the sidebar has been fully scrolled through?

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Bottom vs Top?I need it because my sidebar is longer than my content in some pages. So I want the side bar and content section to scroll down, and then when the very end of the content is reached, the bottom of the content will stick and keep scrolling down with the sidebar. So rather than sticking from the top, where you would miss all the content from below, i am trying to get it to stick after all the content has been passed.
Thanks!
