In reply to: WordPress 4.8 Page Editor Does Not Work (Visual or Text)You will most likely get a “friendly” response from someone asking you to create a new topic on this since it’s considered “resolved”. But I will ask you, did you try the Concatenate Scrip listed on page one of this topic? Are you using the NextGEN plugin? If so, did you try the recommended plug-in fix from Imagely for IE11 users listed on page one of this topic?

In reply to: WordPress 4.8 Page Editor Does Not Work (Visual or Text)I activated all my plugins and the Visual and Text Editor tabs were still showing up but all of the content was missing (or invisible) while in Visual mode. After further research I discovered that my NextGEN Gallery plugin was causing the issue along with Internet Explorer. See “NextGEN plugin prevents WordPress edit in visual mode” which includes a fix for this. Imagely is recommending the “plugin” as the correction for IE11 users (I contacted them and it’s legit). I downloaded the plugin and now along with the IE update everything seems to be working normally. I hope this helps others experiencing the same problem.

In reply to: WordPress 4.8 Page Editor Does Not Work (Visual or Text)Ok, so I just downloaded Internet Explorer 11 on our server. Now the Visual and Text Editor tabs are showing up. I have just deleted the script: define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’,false); and the tabs are still showing.

In reply to: WordPress 4.8 Page Editor Does Not Work (Visual or Text)I just tried opening my WordPress Dashboard in FireFox instead of Internet Explorer (as I normally do), opened an existing page, and both the Visual and Text Editor tabs are showing up!!!! What’s up with that?!!!???

In reply to: WordPress 4.8 Page Editor Does Not Work (Visual or Text)I updated to WordPress 4.8 and both the Visual Editor and Text Editor tabs are missing. I can only see html when trying to edit a page. I tried the Concatenate script but of course it didn’t work for me. I have disabled all plugins and even tried switching the theme which caused an additional headache which you (and others) did not mention. If you change your theme be aware that when you switch back to your original theme you most likely will have to rebuild parts of your site if you are using certain plugins. I use a sidebar plugin which lost all of its widgets after I switched back to my original theme. What an unexpected surprise! The deactivating of plugins is simple, the switching of themes is NOT.
I have other topics out on the forum that are old which have been left unanswered. Please help me (and others) find a solution to this editor issue. I’m so disappointed in the forum support. We host our own website, are using a Windows Server and iis.
Thank you!

In reply to: Can’t log in to wp-login or wp-adminI just tried the WordPress Codex “Changing The Site URL” and edited my wp-config.php file by adding:
define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://example.com’);
define (‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://example.com’);
This caused the wp-login screen to show up as it should. I entered my name and password and got into the WP dashboard. Things looked great until I accessed “Appearance”, “Themes”. All of the default themes are a blank (white) box with the tiny x in a corner. If I try to view the website I get html. I tried to download an image into the Media Library but all I see is an empty box with the x in the corner where the image should be. Is all this an iis issue? Does this have anything to do with Bindings? Permissions? All iis settings in general? Why would changing the site URL cause me to be able to access the wp-login anyway?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Can’t log in to wp-login or wp-adminGood thing this wasn’t a 911 call, I’d be dead by now…
Is anyone willing or able to assist me with this problem? Rajesh gave me a few steps to follow and I posted what happened after I tried each one. I don’t know what to do next.
Thank you.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Moving images on a page causes them to duplicateNow I’m experiencing another issue. When trying to create anchors with the WP Edit toolbar I click on the image that looks like a bookmark, I highlight the text to make the anchor (the place where I want the user directed TO), I name the anchor and save. Then the text I highlighted disappears but an anchor box appears. I then highlighted the text were I want to direct the user FROM. The text jumps to the very top of the page. Is there a connection with what’s happening when I try to drag and drop an image? Things are jumping to the top of the page. Anchors are not working. Text is disappearing.

In reply to: Moving images on a page causes them to duplicateI have reverted to cut and paste now. Drag and drop still duplicates images and throws them to the top of the page.
Hello, are any of the millions of WordPress users out there? Am I the only one experiencing this problem?
Thanks!!
