Which browser are you using? Could you please check in any other browser? Also, please try disabling all other plugins and with the default WP theme, it will help us to find if there is any conflict.

As page categories are not default WP features, so it is not included in the plugin. I believe a lots need to be changed within the plugin.

It’s great that you found the fix. Just want to add here, display: none is css, it should not conflict in any way with the cart functionality. Maybe, it was a conflict with some other plugin?

The plugin is really useful. But if you think, your site is loading fast, then you can avoid to run extra script. Also, when you upload the images, if possible, save the image in photoshop using File > Save for Web and Devices. It will keep the best quality and make the image size smaller.

You can use Shopping cart widget in your sidebar, there should be a checkout button.

Also, you can change cart link to buy now link from Products > Store Settings > Presentation > Single Product Settings.

Then when you click to buy now button, it will take you cart page directly.

Finally, you can use floating cart plugin from here: https://www.marketpressthemes.com/
