Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workI’ve re-installed WordPress 1.5.2 in a directory of its own in the root directory of my CGI space and ‘Themes’ are now working OK. It was previously installed in the ‘cgi-bin’ directory in my CGI space and this was the reason why ‘Themes’ were not working. Thanks for everyone’s help.

My ISP have told me that it MUST be installed in the CGI space and NOT my normal webspace.Themes still do not work of course!

In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workBut CHMOD and its various numerical settings are double dutch to me. My FTP program(s) refer to permissions as:
Owner, Group and Public having Read, Write and Execute
settings for each.I have CGI webspace AND ordinary webspace where the index.html and ordinary website files reside. You are saying it should be in the ordinary website space BUT my ISP’s instructions for installing WordPress say it should be in the CGI webspace – Puzzled

In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workWhat are the permissions supposed to be set to please?
Are you saying WordPress directory and files shouldn’t be in the cgi-bin directory? Or not in the CGI space at all?
Where should they be?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workI tried switching to the classic theme but although it selected it OK, no themes were displayed.
I have switched back to the default theme.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workI have deleted themes/default and its contents.
I then re-uploaded an unedited themes/default and contents.
I then set the Permissions of all the freshly uploaded files to:
Owner – Read, Write and Execute
Group – Read and Execute
Public – Nothing setThen accessing the blog still doesn’t display the ‘Themes’.
The Blog is still set to display the ‘default’ theme.

In reply to: Themes although switching OK do not workI changed nothing in the CSS file.
I have been using an FTP client to upload all files.
I have set it back to Binary mode as I have had no problem with that in the past.
I will upload a complete new default theme and report back.Forum: Themes and Templates
