GoDaddy support team finally did something to help me resolve this 500 internal server error issue, they reviewed my error log and gave me some recommendations to try.

Now, the blog is running much better than before and I didn’t get the 500 error for a few days, hopefully it stays that way.

If anyone’s getting this 500 error with wp based blog & GoDaddy hosting, pm me and I shall try to give you the hints that may resolve your problem.

Problem resolved, thanks to everyone !

Sorry that you had to go through all of this, must have been really one hell of an experience with GoDaddy !

Like you said GoDaddy is doing a perfect job when they assure new customers they had addressed issues they had concerning WordPress, obviously NOT.

I started making my backup for the of my files on the server, then the second step is to cancel the GDy account and say goodbye to AGONY.

Thanks for your useful remarks brother, though i would like to add more clarifications just to prove that GoDaddy SUCK BIG TIME !

GoDaddy reviewed my hosting account and gave me recommendations based on my traffic as follows:

    1. Go for VDS; which is valid option but after this nightmare experience with their support team and their services I’d never consider them even if I decide to go for VDS.

    2. They suggested that I may also upgrade my account from shared hosting to DELUX 4GH, which is Grid Hosting, meaning that they use several servers to provide me with more resources and sustain higher traffic (I presume this is more like the CLOUD you have suggested), and out of foolness, I agreed with the second option and I paid more and more.

The result of course was nothing but a total rip-off, nothing was improved, the problems kept coming up even on a higher scale ! and the support kept getting worse !

Moral of the day: NEVER consider GoDaddy if you ever think of a successful/smooth running website.

Thanks for your great support and help. I have made my mind and am moving to another web hosting company.

I heard good stuff about IX WEBHOSTING and I might consider them. As for Go Daddy, I’ve had it !

Thanks again pal you were really helpful.

Just so you know how jerky is GoDaddy support see what they said when I asked them to implement your recommendations:

    ———————————————————————-
    Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting Hosting Support.

As this is a shared hosting server we will be unable to modify the server configuration. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please contact us if you have any further issues.

I have one more question: Could the 500 internal server error be caused by my internet service provider ?

    BlazeForce;

    mralokkp:

Its just that GoDaddy cannot handle my traffic (2000 visits/day), plain and simple.

Visit my blog now and see for yourself https://www.BananaQ8.com,

Anyway, I decided that the best solution is to transfer my blog to another web hosting company in the next few days, I’ll probably choose IX web hosting considering the great experience my friend bloggers are having with them and way less down times than GoDaddy !

again, Thanks GoDaddy for the nightmare experience I have had with you!!!

mralokkp: Its not the CODE buddy, its GoDaddy servers being un-stable and unreliable,

one moment the server is running smoothly, and in less than 10 minutes the server goes down without notice !

GoDaddy support does nothing to answer any of my questions clearly, they never take the effort and time to help me resolve me issues, all I get is an almost automated answer that is totally useless.

The problem is pretty simple, GoDaddy hosts million of websites, and the result is the low quality and low level support !

My code have been inspected by experts and they all agree that its intact, after all its just a wordpress based blog with a few common plugins, I can’t see where such problem “500 internal server error” and website being down frequently are originating but to suspect that this is on GoDaddy server end.

They said the upgrade will help, so I did, nothing happened ! Of course just the extra money that I paid, this is very upsetting.

Trust me Ipstenu, I tried sending the error log to GoDaddy support but they did nothing at all !! The website going down this many times is totally irrational, I mean it happens way too frequently, and I even sent them report from websites showing that my website is DOWN and its not just me, but all they do is reply me with “We noticed that there were no issues to duplicate at this time”.

I’m suffering with them, and coming here was my last resort. Mu current hsoting plan with GoDaddy is more expensive than the others, yet the service and quality of hosting remain very low!

GoDaddy, if you are reading this, know that I’m suffering like hell with you !!!!!! The 500 internal server error and the frequency of my website going down is unbearable !!

What? something I need to know about Windows Live Writer ?

    Thread Starter bananaq8

    (@bananaq8)

    nomolos,

I never said GoDaddy were not polite with me nor un-responsive, they are polite & I never complained before even when the server went down occasionally though I was completely understanding such issues could happen.

My sole point is that I needed to be informed earlier so I could tackle this issue easier, and like I said the issue was caused because wordpress generates 3 version of any uploaded image (small, medium & thumbnail), meaning that if I upload a single image a day I will have 90 files in one month, plus I think there’s a glitch with Windows Live Writer because I noticed many images were duplicated on the server directories. What I did now is re-set the wordpress media upload settings to generate only 1 size of the uploaded image, also I installed a plugin to create weekly based folders instead of the default monthly folders to help prevent this issue from happening again.

My only issue lies with the past months & I am ready to delete any un-needed files if only I knew which were not attached to the related posts, I worked so hard on my blog in the past months & have gained popularity, & sponsorship is on the way. That’s why I can’t simply sacrify everything that I have done so far.

Now to resolve this issue on my part, I did not just simply transfer to another web-hosting company because I still have faith in GoDaddy plus am a loyal customer & I know that mis-communication can happen anywhere anytime & I thought about going for VIRTUAL DEDICATED SERVER, which should be strong enough to handle files greater than 1024 but till now GoDaddy support did not give me a definite answer whether this problem will be resolved or not if I decide to use their VDS

    Thread Starter bananaq8

    (@bananaq8)

    GoDaddy Alicia,
Am sorry to say that I was let down with GoDaddy so far, am still insisting that the real problem was due to lag in effective communication between Network Violations & the customer, usually when problems arise customer should be informed as soon as possible & not wait until the problem is further complicated to tell customer: Sir, you have a problem occuring for more than 6 months & you have to fix it now otherwise we’ll take a proper action ourselves & offer very limited (almost none) support, this is not profissional.

If you check my Godaddy support history you will see I have sent more than a dozen complaints about server being down & your support always replied me with “NO ISSUES WERE FOUND AT ALL”.

In addition, even after I have decided to go for Virtual dedicated server (which is costly compared to normal hosting) the Network Violations were unsure if the dedicated server will solve the files issue being more than 1024 in the folders. I came to know that this is a non-issue to most of the other webhosting companies while Godaddy can’t assure to me that this problem will be solved even with VIRTUAL DEDICATED SERVER.

    Thanks Godaddy !
