I fixed this, finally!!! All I had to do was drag and drop the panels back into proper place.

I can’t insert single line between paragraphs.

Maybe it was the way I put the code for the ad script into the theme??? It was set up for 250×250 ads and I put in a 160×600 ad.

I have the latest version installed. Any idea if I hit something by mistake.

I found it — but now it’s on the bottom of the page. How do I move it back?

I deactivated the plugins, and I still don’t have the buttons back.

When I installed the latest WP update — it had said update successful, plus I’ve put up a few posts since then.
