OK, thank you for the answer. Than it is useless to me completely. What I don’t understand is why woocommerse wants to cut out a lot of people using it by stopping support to plugin that actually works for us and removing any possibility of normal work. You could have created a new one for those who really need it yet support the old one for other. Is it that hard?

I’ve just tested the 7.1 version. The CPU usage is resolved (same with and without plugin), but the loading time of full product list page is still worse than without plugin. It has improved in comparison to the 7.0.3, but it is still almost twice as bad in comparison to performance without the plugin.

Without it the loading time of my products is 10.5 sec on average (5 attempts, all 10-11 sec). 157 products, almost all variable – not sure is the latter matters.

With the previous version of the plugin it was totally horrible, 48 sec on average.

With the 7.1 it is now 18.4 (5 attempts, from 17 to 20 sec).

Well, the problem is I COULDN’T override it in child theme as what I’ve tried to change in style.css hasn’t worked. I assume there is a way to do it but I don’t know it. So I had to change storefront theme directly.

OK, found where Storefron declares image size (/storefront/inc/class-storefront.php).
I can of course change the size directly in this file, but I know it is not a good solution.

    Thank you for the answer!

In the customizer I have no option to set image size, only thumbnail cropping. If I understand correctly, that means that Storefront theme somewhere declares image sizes? Can you point where it happens and how I can override that?

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for your help! I actually already killed that site and went to another hosting so can’t check if it would be the same with another theme.
But at least it is working on my new hosting site ??

Yes, it still occur even with every plugin deactivated and standard Storefront theme.

I don’t think I can reinstall it (an installation was done automatically and I can’t find anything resembling an uninstall function).

Initially I’ve had several plugins running (akismet, ninja forms, Contact Widgets, Sidekick, Storefront Product Pagination, Storefront Product Sharing, WP101 Video Tutorials), then I’ve deactivated everything but that did not help. Now all of them are activated again.

I have a feeling I should have just bought hosting and install everything by myself as in that case I at least would have complete control.
