I suppose I’m being picky now that I’ve got it all working as I need it to. It’s just that selecting a different user from the drop down doesn’t seem to do anything: emails always just go to the main WP admin.
But manually entering the email address into that field does get the email to who I need it to go to as well, so it’s OK ??
Thanks agelonwl – hadn’t tried that, I was focussing on that drop down.
It does work but….
It doesn’t work if I test it whilst still logged in to WordPress. This doesn’t matter (I just need to log out), but I’ve noticed some of the settings don’t kick in whilst I’m logged in to the site, so to test I must log out. Just thought I’d mention this in case someone finds it useful.
So I’ve added an email address to the ‘Email events admin’ field and made a test booking (I logged out of WordPress before doing so) and yes, the email went to the right place. It also went to my main WordPress user email even though I didn’t ask it to and actually specified another user in the drop down. Is this behaving correctly?
WordPress 3.4.1.
On my demo site which works EM 5.1.6.
On my real site that didn’t EM 5.1.7.I read on another post about jquery issues and that seemed plausible except that my theme (ColorWay 1.7.7) is the same on both, and refers to 1.4 thingumy.
Rolling back to EM 5.1.6 did the trick for me. It would have been nice to know exactly what the problem was of course, but my demo site was so customised (bodged) that I expect it would be impossible to figure it out.
I rolled back to the previous version of EM and it works, so solved but no idea how, sorry.
I’m an idiot – whilst testing I used made-up email addresses so never got the confirmation emails! You’re right, it does work.
*Walks away slightly embarrassed*.I’d been playing around with the position of stuff in booking form.php – when I uploaded an untampered version it worked so it was something I broke when messing with that code.
No idea what I broke, but at least I’ve fixed it.
As you were.Damn, still don’t get it ?? Thanks anyway you two; I’m just not that smart.
Because I’m a bodger I’ve cheated and hijacked the ‘phone number’ field, replacing it with my drop-down. It works, which will do me.
Thanks agelonwl.
The individual event total spaces feature is cool and I’m already using it. I was hoping there would be a way to apply that feature for a group of events.
I’ve figured out a workaround (not technical, more conceptual) if anyone’s interested or has a better suggestion!
- Create 1 event for the whole week – ‘This week’s event’
- List each individual event in the description
- Get people to choose the event they want to attend by typing it in the comments field of the booking form. (Maybe I can add a drop-down – is this possible in the free plugin?)
- Rely on the email notifications to manage bookings rather than the bookings dashboard.
A bit clunky maybe, but it enables me to use the total spaces feature and therefore automatically prevent people from booking once the total has been reached.
Hmm, it’s my theme, it doesn’t like it when I mess with functions.php it seems (done it to me before).
OK, enough waffle from me! Thanks agelonwl, I’ll mark this as resolved.I did all those things… but I also uninstalled a couple of plugins. I fear maybe they’re the culprit :-/
Actually all updates made in the admin take me to a blank screen after having clicked ‘update’ or ‘save’ or ‘publish’.
Thanks for that.
It does work but it does something to my wp admin: when I click ‘update file’ it takes me to a blank screen. Is this normal/ok?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Noob needs help!!1. In Appearance > Theme Options > Home page settings – at the bottom is Home Page Testimonial. The slogan bottom left is taken from your WordPress general settings (I think).
2. Add a portfolio plugin (do a search from within your WordPress admin) – it makes managing lists like this a doddle.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Help with Colorway ThemeIt’s all in Appearance > Theme Options > General Settings, Home Top Settings and Home Page Settings.
