So of course after logging this and toggling more settings off and on again it seems to be working but will keep a close watch.

I resolved this – had been trying to use the theme’s accent colour, which of course would not pull through to the email going out. So will use simply the span color option.

Cool – I’ll have a play and let you know how it turns out – may be at the weekend, though.

I agree with the O/P and surprised that any plugin can auto-update – I was sure I had to do the updates. A bit worrying and perhaps we need to just know what plugins auto-update and which do not, I suppose?

Next step is then to email [email protected] and ask for help with this.

3. Follow the instructions in the email to create your account for Make WordPress Slack team – the home of all discussions on contributing to the WordPress project.

4. You’ll be dropped into the Make WordPress Slack team. From there you can join channels based on where you want to contribute to WordPress (by clicking on the left hand side under “Channels”).

I had problems initially getting on to Slack, but that was before I tried with my WordPress email address.

For my theme I over-rode the .hentry {clear: both;} code with .hentry {clear: none;}

but I don’t know enough geek to know if this is a sensible solution.
