In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Adding senders name to From fieldI found if you add
[your-name] <[email protected]>
(obviously change [email protected] for your actual email address!) then it does give the email that you receive a proper sender’s name. Although as I have come to realise, the sender’s email address needs to be your own otherwise the email should. Be seen to be spam.
Can’t help as to why you don’t have any message body though…Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Adding senders name to From fieldhttps://www.lavenhamphotographic.co.uk/availability
I’ve found I can add [your-name] <[email protected]> to the line and at least add their name to the incoming email, allbeit with my own email address. That was the most annoying bit, looking through the emails in my email client and not seeing the senders name – they were all listed as ‘wordpress, wordpress, wordpress!
Sorry, ignore this thread! Confirmation message was further down the page!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast noindex on some search resultsAh, Thankyou. I thought search results would be another good way of indexing keywords. Thanks for putting me straight!

In reply to: Create boxes that look like a Blog Post box?Like these ones : https://www.lavenhamphotographic.co.uk/blog/
To explain further, I have most of the pages of my site on a regular website, made the hard way! And then all the blogs in WordPress within a folder. They are both using the same theme, I purchased the html and WordPress versions of the Kubb theme.
I’m now trying to recreate all my html pages in WordPress so I can move WordPress to the root and handle everything from I there.
I ised these style of boxes for one of the pages here: https://www.lavenhamphotographic.co.uk/recommended-by-venues.html and want to recreate that exact page in WordPress.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Capitalising letter i when in bold!Yes, quite a pleasing fix actually to just dial down the boldness!
Where are the fonts actually set? My client who I actually put the site together for doesn’t like the sizing of headers, and how they appear different in edit mode to when they are actually live. Are fonts all set in style.css? Is there nowhere more wysiwyg?

In reply to: Capitalising letter i when in bold!I’ve actually just found a result when searching further. It appears that it’s not really a capital I, but the font itself blurs the dot in so it appears to be a capital. I edited the style.css (line 123), changing the font-weight from 700 to 600 and now it’s far less bold it appears as a lower case again!
Edit – OK< I’ve turned on ‘Link Button’ under hover options, now I’m trying to figure out how to completely disable the lightbox, so the link s the only option. I think it would be better for visitors to the page if there wasn’t a red link icon, and instead the image just looked like a normal image that linked when clicked
OK, I’ve just installed ‘Search Exclude’ and that solves one of my queries!! Adds the tickbox ‘Exclude from Search Results’ to the galleries

In reply to: Struggling to migrate WP to a different domainThanks Brett, cheers for the link… I’ll look into that if the advice I’ve been given from the hosting support doesn’t work

In reply to: Struggling to migrate WP to a different domainI can’t log in to do that!!!! I did add lines to php/functions.php that specified the site root and the WP root. Didn’t help unfortunately.
i did contact the hosts again, and he’s advised I use a plugin called velvet blues to change all links. He apologised he should have told me this yesterday! (I spent hours trying things!)
Ohh, I didn’t think of adding a cart to my WordPress site. I’ll look into that. At the moment it runs specialist photo sales software, it works fine, but isn’t styled too nice, compared to the WP templates I’m thinking of switching to! Cheers for the link, I’ll investigate!
I’m thinking I’ll buy the HTML and WP versions of the template, leave WP running within its own folder. I actually contacted the template’s creator, and he says it’ quite common to do it that way.
Here’s a link by the way, so you can see the extent of my bodging!
